Liability for the good samaritan pa when you go bring to the hospital. Baka ikaw pa pababayaran kung walang relative yung victim.
Why does the it sounds so much like the Philippines...
BBC News - Outcry in China over hit-and-run toddler left in street
It cited an earlier case in which a man, Peng Yu, who helped an injured elderly lady to hospital was then found by a court to be liable for some of her medical costs.
Another case - in which an elderly woman believed to have fallen in the road accused a man, Xu Yunhe, who stopped to help her, of hitting her with his car - also attracted considerable attention.
"There's been so many cases where people have been treated unjustly after doing good things," one comment said.
"I am not as rich as Xu Yunhe and Peng Yu are, we are all poor grassroots people," said another. "If we get caught in a scam, this is it. All we can do is to dial 120 (the emergency number)."
i guess it goes like this --
hospital: since dinala mo dito, ikaw na ang magbayad. nagmagandang loob ka na lubos-lubusin mo na
good samaritan: ah ganun ba? sana hinayaan ko nalang
Would you help an injured person knowing the financial consequences mentioned above? I guess a majority would be in the negative...
if the same situation as the one posted here, yes no doubt i will. sorry but i'm not one of those guys who would do nothing and just watch a freaking 2 year old girl get run over twice by a truck, i don't know how i could live with that knowing i could've done some thing but i did nothing.
babalik din ang karma sa mga g*gong dinaan daanan lang yung bata, masahol pa sa mga hayop ganyan klase ng tao. the world would be a much better place with out people like that.![]()
i'm a criminal, i've accidentally ran over jaywalkers and hit dumb motorcyclists at night. i've killed my conscience. i'm evil.
It's not just the hospital bill. It's also the potential long term harassment of you and your family. Once the "victim" is at the hospital, you'll be required to fill in an information sheet including how to contact you. The next of kin of the victim will use the same information to ask you for money for the "victim's" support for food, medicine, shelter, school, loss of income, etc.
It's not unheard of.
Reminds me of one year ago when I hit a drunk man 2 am with my car.
It was a dark highway where I could have just run away with taillights off (for the plate not to be identified), had my car repainted the next day and avoid the stretch again.
But I almost sure that my conscience won't let me get over it.
Glad I did what was right although I ended up paying for all relevant bills (hospital, legal etc) that sums up to cost of a B16A engine swap.
No regrets.
PS: The by-standers who helped me bring the man to the hospital stole the victim's wallet and my cellphone.
Buhay ng bata ang involved dito. Saka ko na proproblemahin ang pera kung sakali. At least di ako uusigin ng kunsensya ko
"Good samaritans" nowadays are too coward and too busy to even consider the impact of their actions on their conscience! Sa mga walang kunsensyang nakasagasa sa bata at sa mga walang pusong dumaan lang, sana di mangyari sa mga anak ninyo ito.
But for the good Samaritans, they have that CCTV footage to prove their innocence.
For the bad driver, he has the same to prove his guilt.
Na-trace na ba nila yung driver?
very disturbing video...... parang pusa lang yun sinagasaan ah! I hope karma hunts them swiftly!
Out of curiosity I watched the video and Im so regretting it. Its amazing though how that kid survived being ran over twice.
