Slow Moving Vehicle, Pag Overtake Mo,- Biglang Makikipagkarera

Dito sa loob ng BF Paranaque, this morning, we were following a car, which was doing only 35kph, for the past half a kilometer of so. To us, it looked like the driver was leisurely driving. My wife was driving and I was the passenger. We could not overtake it because there were vehicles in the opposite lane/direction.

When we had the opportunity as the road was wide open, we took the opposite lane and as we accelerated to overtake the car, it did the same as if telling us, you could not overtake me, o ayaw magpa-overtake. As there were vehicles coming in from the opposite direction,- we then retook the lane position behind this car who was back again to his leisure driving.....

The point is it was early morning and everyone was obviously rushing for work. You're driving leisurely at 35kph, and yet when someone attempted to overtake you, you denied the person of that move as if you own the road?

Sana naman medyo i-maintain na lang ang speed at pabayaang mag-overtake. You were doing it naman for some time already....

Anyway, when we were at President's avenue, approaching the intersection of Tahanan Village, on the way out of BF, I took this picture. A few moments after this, the car was overtaking the vehicles in front of it, even if there was oncoming traffic...Reckless driving na....

Ingat lang po tayo sa mga ganitong klaseng kapwa natin driver.....

I have the car's plate number, but I am not making it public... Reminder lang po sa lahat...

It looks like you just encountered somebody who is probably still half asleep. Happened to us many times. When I was younger and didn't know better I would just cut into his lane, but now I know better. Hopefully tomorrow's morning drive will be better than today's.

Yes I encounter this a lot of times. Natatawa ako sa mga PUJ lalaban pa sa Accord or Civic ko Tirahin nga natin ng VTEC power yung World War II tin can diesel nya and leave him to eat my dust

Just wondering..... What is the official speed limit at that street seeing that it's in a residential area. I remember riding with a friend at BF Homes Paranaque long ago*. We were going pretty slow even though there wasn't much traffic at all.

kung sabagay... konting angat na lang ng tingin, makikita natin na Driving against traffic is also against the law, kaso minsan mga traffic enforcers pa ang sumesenyas na mag counter flow mga vehicles. saka 150 lang ang fine, maning mani sa mga rich brats.

dapat si BF hindi sa MMDA, dapat sa LTO siya, dapat ma screen ng husto mga kumukuha ng lisensya. madami na ang nasasaktan sa mga MMDA, pero napapasunod pa rin niya, so siguro kaya din niyang ayusin ang LTO.

kung matitino lang mga drivers, hindi na kailangan gumastos pa ng malaki sa pag tatayo ng mga u-turn slots na yan, mga pink fences etc.

I deliberately did not answer this, because I needed to verify if there are street signs in the village, defining the max speed allowed. There was none.

Anyway, Aguirre Avenue, which becomes President's Avenue once you exit the main gate of BF on the south side is a 4-lane thoroughfare (2 lanes for each way).

So I guess, doing 55KPH to 60KPH is acceptable, probably a bit faster since it is early morning and traffic was just building up. 35KPH is just too slow, especially since the driver was occupying the left (inner) lane.

The Honda driver's still wrong, of course. But, the lack of speed limit signs is certainly something that needs to be addressed either by the city, BF Homes, or the Home Owner's Association. A case study should be done to see what the proper speed limit should be.

I always remembered the speed limit there as 40 kph because that's what everybody used to do over there, at least around where Tropical Palace used to be.

Abay meron! 100Kph and speed limit sign sa NLEX tapos tumatakbo ng 120Kph to 180Kph ang dumadaan dun.

Sa subdivisions wala, pero naglalagay sila ng humps. Well most of them if not all. Timang lang talaga yang naka honda na yan.

sa totoo lang karamihan ng ganyan is either mga di nakapag-aral ng maayos na pagmamaneho or mga spoiled brats na feeling pogi.

i remember one time sa espana near welcome rotonda, may nagbaba na PUJ (or nangitlog). malayo palang nakikita ko na. tapos tumatakbo naman na normal speed yung mga sasakyan at 1 car ang pagitan ko sa car na nasa harap ko nang biglang kumaliwa na walang tingin tingin or signal lights (kaht hand signal) buti naka preno ako at kinaya ng matandang sasakyan na gamit ng batang-batang driver(ako yun). yun kamot ulo ako at napatingin saken. pinalagpas ko at napansin ko na nalaman nyang mali ginawa nya at naging OA sa paghand signal. nawala galit ko kasi mukang tnga yung driver.
