the side mirrors of our rav4 got stolen just tonight. haay.. couldn't really blame the building guards. ingay sa rizal ave. nasa labas kasi nakapark e.

mas advisable talaga itupi yung sidemirror pag di maiwasan magpark sa mga ganung areas.

Pe-etch mo na after. Kahit as deterrent lang. Hindi ako nagpapark sa labas kapag nandiyan ako sa area niyo. Talamak talaga. Daming tulisan!

+1 dito. Sobrang rampant ang nakawan ng side mirrors sa'min. The ones on my Lancer before were actually already my 7th set dahil laging ninanakaw. Yun hindi lang pinatulan dahil basag na both sides.

Actually sinubukan pa rin kunin yun, nakita ko yung sidemirror ko nakapatong sa oto. Pagtanggal nya siguro na realize nya na basag kaya iniwan na lang.

Anyway, pa etch na yung plate number mo next time you buy sidemirrors. When I got my Corolla last year, that was one of the first things I did. Within 3 days of getting the car, pina etch ko na yung plate number sa sidemirrors, pati na rin sa windshield, rearglass, and all 4 windows.

Meron nito sa Big Bert's, I think 150 per panel ata. Sobrang sulit nyan. Pati kapit bahay ko nagtanong na sa'kin dahil napansin nya never ako nanakawan ng sidemirrors, samantalang sya ilang beses na.

Sounds like a good idea pa etched ng side mirrors. pero what if mabwiset magnanakaw at gasgasin sasakyan? Hindi ba mas mahal paint job kaysa side mirrors?

tatatak nila yung plate number mo sa mirrors by using stencils. this is what my co members sa revo club do. have their plate numbers etched. although this is not a complete deterrent, madidiscourage sila once nakita nila na me naka etch kasi di naman nila mabebenta sa iba.

Bumping this thread again. Alam kong maraming side mirror etching threads dito, I just picked the most recent one I saw.

My rotten luck is with me again, this time with having my mirrors etched. Went to BigBert's *Araneta the other day, temporarily discontinued daw etching service. Sa AAP naman (member ako), sira naman daw yung machine nila. Saw an old post from '03 about Francis del Carmen, palagi namang busy yung phone # na naka-post, siguro iba na # nya ngayon o nagsawa na sya kaka-etch.

Went around detailing and auto glass shops today, either walang service sila na ganun, hindi nila alam kung ano ang etching, or their terms are out of this world (P800/panel tapos no liability kapag nabasag nila. WTF!)

So bottomline, can anyone recommend other shops which do this? QC area please. Thank you.

Do it yourself to death ba?
Make a stencil on a masking tape of what you want to write then buy an acid based glue or liquid that will burn the mirror. Ask glass stores if they have this acid or where is it available. Napanood ko ito sa TV a long time ago.

Why experiment on your side view mirror if you can do it on a bottle or broken glass. Mismong professionals walang guarantee sa iyo diba.

Ok na idea yang glass etching...atleast di na nila mabebenta yung mga mirrors kaso problema nga is pag napikon yung magnanakaw, gagasgasan naman kotse mo...bwiset talaga! happened to me before when i was working sa may JP Rizal St., Makati..malapit pa mismo sa munisipyo ng Makati, may etch na mirrors ko, di nga nawala pero sinulatan naman ng gasgas yung pa-ikot ng kotse ko...hanep badtrip talaga. So after ko mag-pa-hilamos ng kotse (yes napa-hilamos ng wala sa oras kotse ko dahil sa dami ng gas gas buti na lang sinagot ng insurance pero hassle pa rin kasi 1 week ako nawalan ng kotse) may kabarkada ako na minodify yung mga side mmirrors ko...ginawa niyang detachable! ginawa niya eh bumili kami ng mga velcro straps saka industrial strength na double sided tapes...tapos nun solb! tuwing iiwan ko kotse ko sa alanganing lugar...tinatanggal ko na lang yung mirrors sabay tago sa bag ko. Atleast kung makita ng mga kawatan yung kotse ko, mukha na syang nanakawan! Share ko lang!
