I can understand where you are speaking from. Even I hate the mentality just because I drive a car, it does not give you the right to treat MY PROPERTY as if it's your picnic table, etc. Just because I drive a car, it does not mean I am filthy rich. I worked hard and saved money to buy my precious car. I prefer to keep it in pristine condition as long as I can.

'May tao pala.' Tapos iwas...
...which means that they know how not to lean unto the car of others, but do not effing bother if nobody's there.
Umiral ang ka-kupalan. Story of the Filipino street mentality.
Oh, and dunno if the poor, uneducated attribute applies to all these.
I once was waiting inside my parked car (sundo mode) when a group of decent-looking employees from a well-known company stopped behind to talk while waiting for a cab. Normally you would ignore, but they were hanging too close to the car to not notice. Still, one puts them off the mind.
But then, a little later, ayan na... guy starts adjusting his backpack, hitting the zippers to the body. Heard it, miffed, but stayed silent. A little later, girl then starting sitting on the bumper. When I noticed it....
'OH HELL, NO.'
Started the car, startled and made the girl jump. Right on time as the person I was waiting for came out after a minute or two. Funny thing is, magkakilala pala sila-sila. The group was still looking at us when we drove away.
Not as if they were not educated enough or something. Bottomline, I think it all boils down to the general mentality of people na WALANG PAKI sa mga bagay-bagay basta't hindi nila pagmamay-ari.

January 15th, 2013 11:48 AM #39one of the hazards of not having a garage and parked near a sari-sari store, every morning may marka ng bote ng softdrinks sa bumper(malapad kasi at pwede pagpatungan) at siniksiksikan ng balat ng chips sa ilalim ng fender. Usually mga kabataan ang gumagawa nito.

Most of them naman kasi walang kotse kaya di nila alam na nakakairita para sa may-ari na sinasandalan auto nya. Mula rin nung nagsimula ako magmaneho I learned to respect others cars more, di ako sumasandal, maingat pag bubuksan pinto sa parking para di matamaan pinto or side mirror, things like that.
the generic answer for all cars is, "yes but", i am wary of the increased glare that can blind...
