saw the jazz driver on tv. nagmamadali lang daw sya kaya nagabot sila nung convoy. mukha naman syang harmless and tahimik. i also believe that he is lucky to get away without being shot at by the rest of the convoy. imagine malapit na sya sa presidential car. mukhang may lapses din sa coordination ng convoy.

Doesn't the last vehicle in the convoy have a PA system to tell other cars to stay back some distance? As someone mentioned the Ramos motorcade clears the way 1km ahead and the same should be true for the back end for security. Heck, Bush clears the whole route and has snipers on top of buildings along the way. If the PSG wanted to protect the President they should have shot the Jazz the moment it tried to overtake the last vehicle in the convoy.

what's more puzzling is puwede naman i-radio na kagad ng last convoy car that somebody slipped past him. mas mabilis naman di hamak ang radiowave kaysa jazz.

dapat kung nalampas or naka-BREACH na ng lima, they must have some measure to blow up the vehicle na, kumbaga sa movies Alert Level 5 hehehe. if it's a car bomb, sigurado abot na VIP Car.

Though the Jazz driver was mainly at fault for the stunt he pulled, the PSG is also to blame. Perhaps they were exercising maximum tolerance which is why they didn't shoot him, but there was also a big lapse of security on their part. The Jazz got past 5 cars in the convoy.

Although i believe that in this case the Jazz driver acted like a positive idiot, I do hope this incident calls the officials' attention to the topic of WHY Filipinos have no respect for escorted convoys. The reason is simple: abuse. With all the SOBs running around the city ecorted by huge SUVs and motorcycle cops, it's hard not to get steamed up. What business do these people have hogging the road? Why should their time be more valuable than ours? Simply because the have the moolah and we don't? Whenever I hear a siren behind me, I take a quick look at who it's coming from. If it's an ambulance or an official police vehicle, I pull to the side and let them pass. But if it's some moron in a private vehicle, I don't budge an inch. As an honest taxpayer, i have as much right to the road as they do.

+1. And it's not just about the money. Some people just love to abuse authority. There are a lot of rich Filipinos out there who fall in line and wait in traffic just like anybody else. Yun nga lang, sila may kasamang driver at magandang oto. Hehehe!

Yes. Ganun na nga. Typical. Naka-quota na siguro yung apprehending agency(/ies), or baka may naapakan nang corrupt government official or anak ng corrupt government official na umalma.
