Clear na para sa taxi yung right of way.
Collision, may laban ang taxi dahil sa gilid tinamaan.
Right hand rule, sa taxi pa rin dahil nasa kaliwa nya yung SUV.
Speed limit, kung may evidence na more than the limit yung taxi pwedeng yun lang ang kaso nya, the rest sa SUV na.

yan ba yung u-turn sa edsa/p.tuazon sa araneta? e ginagamit ko ang u-turn na yan pag namamalenke kami sa farmers' market. e dapat nga yan pwede ka lang mag-u-turn pag naka-stop yung traffic sa edsa at go ang tuazon. kaya nga pag nagkataon na madami vehicles pa-u-turn papuntang araneta center e pila yan e hangang dun sa ibaba ng underpass (kasi lalabas ka ng kanan from the underpass papunta dyan sa u-turn slot na yan) at pag go ang edsa e di ka makakapasok dyan. kung sa edsa/p.tuazon nga yan e maling-mali talaga yung suv, unless naka-red light ang edsa at tumuloy pa din yung taxi.

30 seconds lang yung red light ng EDSA sa intersection na yan bro. Kung naabutan ako ng yellow, titigil nalang ako, pero siyempre, taxi yan eh.
Bro kung ganito ka lang rin ka-crass mag-comment, sana wag mo na i-name drop school natin. Nakakahiya.
Ba't naman hindi? We don't live in a black and white reality.
Anyway, back to the topic at hand, there's a newly-built MMDA outpost on what used to be the pedestrian walkway of the P.Tuazon-EDSA overpass. Because of this outpost, a motorist coming from Santolan will not be able to see a vehicle taking a u-turn from Arayat (southbound side) to Araneta (northbound). This is perhaps the reason why the taxi driver failed to see the merging LC. Of course, a responsible motorist should have taken extra caution precisely because it's harder to see vehicles taking a u-turn, but then again, responsible and taxi driver don't often mix.
Likewise, as another consequence of the poorly-placed MMDA outpost, the LC driver probably didn't see the taxi driver coming as he was taking his u-turn. However, since the outpost doesn't block the entire length of the u-turn slot, if he bothered to slow down right before merging, at a point where his car's hood would only be barely on the leftmost lane, he would've seen the headlights of an oncoming vehicle.
Also, as has been mentioned, there's a really big problem in u-turn slots (not just this one) wherein people tend to exit at the second lane as opposed to the inner-most lane. They fail to see that doing this requires oncoming traffic to adjust, and this is one of the reasons why traffic is so awful in C5, especially in the Libis u-turn. If only people took a preference to merge into the innermost lane as best as they could, traffic would be a wee bit lighter.
To me, it's a case of two drivers who don't know how to drive defensively ending up in an accident that ultimately puts the little guy in a deeper pile of crap.
Asa namang papayag yung LC owner na siya yung lalabas na mali.

Mali yun taxi kasi nakaliko na yun SUV. basta ikaw bumangga, ikaw may kasalanan. wala pa sa tamang lane yun taxi nakain nya yun 1st lane and very fast approach nya. kahit right of way mo pa, dapat cautious ka pag dating sa mga intersections. and knowing na may mga lumiliko dyan kung ako yan, doon ako sa outer lane para kung may liliko, libre yun 1st-2nd lane

Mali din suv kasi pag u turn eh biglang gumitna. Dapat dun siya muna sa leftmost lane then start merging right when safe to do so. Hindi ito karera na kapag naka nguso na eh ikaw na ang winner.
Reminds me of the guy na nagkamali ng timpla ng gas sa traffic, sa katangahan niya, inatrasan niya ko habang naka stop ako. Pag baba declare agad siya na kasalanan ko daw dahil ako nasa likod. Ok lang siya? Yang mga bulok na pag iisip na yan ang dahilan bakit may dash cam na ko sa sasakyan.
Same with this suv. Buti nakita sa cctv yung pag swerve niya sa middle lane. At least fair ang laban. Though pareho silang may mali, nasa main thoroughfare pa din ang taxi.
Yung lang concept ng alternate merging hindi pa din alam ng mga local motorists. Yun nga lang yung sasakyan ko may microphone kaya pwede ko silang sigawan kapag nag aaasal kupal. Hehe

mali pagliko kasi ng suv, dapat hindi sya dumikit sa left side, kabig sya sa right then liko para 1st lane lang ang nasakop nya. and malaki kasi sya kaya nahirapan syang lumiko and nakain nya 2 lanes. pero kahit ganon, if you notice yun taxi wala din sa gitna ng 2nd lane. nasakop nya parin part ng inner lane. sasalpok parin sya.

The suv should have just waited for the road to clear. Kahit naka lights and siren kami sa u turn na iyan, we still stop to check before proceeding. Malapit na sa office iyang place na yan

ang read ko dyan e yung taxi is actually in the innermost lane (leftmost lane). iniwasan nya yung suv, kumabig sa kanan kaya andun siya sa gitna ng leftmost and middle lanes, pero since swerving din sa right yung suv (papasok sa araneta center) e ayun inabot.
tanong ko lang, following the reasoning of some people here. SO SA EXPRESSWAY DAPAT PALA MAG-SLOW DOWN KA PAG MAY ENTRY/EXIT LANES????? pag natapat ka pala sa valenzuela e dapat mabagal takbo mo ha? saka iiwasan mo yung right lane kasi pag may pumasok dun at nauna sa iyo ng isang bumper kasalanan mo na? ganun din sa bocaue? sta ines? san fernando? etc etc??? e kasi pag may nabangga ka na tang* na nag-merge ng mabagal kasalanan mo kasi di mo iniwasan? oh wow! more fun(ny) in da pilipins talaga.

wala ka magagawa e dyan sila nag b-base. kapag ikaw yun bumangga ikaw may kasalanan. e di doon ka magreklamo sa kanila. kahit namn sa tao, kahit na bawal ang tao sa highway at may tumawid at nabangga mo kasalanan mo parin. gets mo? kaya magreklamo ka doon sa mga taong gumawa ng law na yan. hindi dito mo ireklamo
