    A traffic enforcer of the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) was seriously injured Wednesday after he was repeatedly shot by a motorist whom he accosted for a traffic violation in Mandaluyong City.

    Yves Gonzales, an official of the MMDA Traffic Enforcement Unit, identified the victim as Larry Fiala who is assigned at Cubao, Quezon City.

    As of Wednesday afternoon, Fiala, who sustained gunshot wounds in the hand, arm and abdomen, was due to be operated on at Dr. Victor Potenciano Medical Center where he was brought by a taxi driver.

    Authorities, meanwhile, are looking for the gunman who fled on board a black Nissan Frontier pickup with plate number WMD 505, Gonzales said.

    “There were witnesses who were able to get the license plate number of the suspect’s vehicle. We also have the name under which it was registered; we already forwarded it to the police,” he told the Philippine Daily Inquirer.

    Initial investigation showed that the shooting happened at around 4 p.m. on the southbound lane of Edsa near Connecticut Street.

    The victim reportedly accosted the driver of the pickup in Cubao for a traffic violation. The driver, however, got irked and hit the victim in the face before he sped off on his vehicle.

    The victim then chased the driver on his motorcycle but when they reached the Connecticut area, the driver got off his vehicle and shot the victim before fleeing, Gonzales said. With Niña Calleja and Karen Boncocan, INQUIRER.net

    Unit is a black Nissan Frontier.

    Driver is a certain Edward John Gonzales if I'm not mistaken.

    he should have made "areglo" of the coding violation,, thats around 500 to 1000 pesos,, now he'll spend a lot money defending himself in court and in the media...

    i wonder,, if this kid has the upbringing and the attitude to shoot like that, maybe if you meet his parents on the road you'll be more than likely getting 3 bullet wounds...

    Oo nga, wala sa itsura yung pagkamainitin ng ulo niya.

    When asked to comment on what he did, all he would say was: "I reserve my right to remain silent".

    Dapat gumaya siya sa mga pulitiko natin na kahit huli na sa kasalanan, lumulusot pa rin.

    This is my primary concern in owning a gun. I cant say that i wont be using a gun with this kind of senseless act especially if galit or badtrip ako. As individuals, we have the right to armed ourselves but we should be responsible also at all times.

    I had this same situation of the accussed where in nahuli ako kasi lampas na sa window coding hours. I just sweet talk the enforcer that i got stuck sa traffic and my place is less than a kilometer away nalang. Pinabigyan ako ng enforcer, ganon lang naman dapat yun tamang approach.

    With this incident they are now thinking of arming the enforcers, i strongly disagree with this.

    MMDA wants that their traffic personnel be armed with guns? ano ba sila police? Dapat sa kanila maki-coordinate sa mga police at LGUs. Look at their functions:

    Section 3. PROJECT IMPLEMENTING AGENCY. – The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA), is hereby designated as the implementing Agency for the project. For this purpose, MMDA is directed to undertake such infrastructure development work as may be necessary and, thereafter, manage the project until it may be turned-over to more appropriate agencies, if found suitable and convenient. Specifically, MMDA shall have the following functions and responsibilities:

    a) Cause the preparation of the Master Plan for the projects, including the designs and costing;

    b) Coordinate the use of the land and/or properties needed for the project with the respective agencies and/or entities owning them;

    c) Supervise and manage the construction of the necessary structures and facilities;

    d) Execute such contracts or agreements as may be necessary, with the appropriate government agencies, entities, and/or private persons, in accordance with existing laws and pertinent regulations, to facilitate the implementation of the project;

    e) Accept, manage and disburse such funds as may be necessary for the construction and/or implementation of the projects, in accordance with prevailing accounting and audit polices and practice in government.

    f) Enlist the assistance of any national government agency, office or department, including local government units, government-owned or controlled corporations, as may be necessary;

    g) Assign or hire the necessary personnel for the above purposes; and

    h) Perform such other related functions as may be necessary to enable it to accomplish the objectives and purposes of this Executive Order.4

    personally, palagay ko lulusot yung mama sa kaso, matuloy man sa korte...

    simple lang mga tanong :
    1) bakit mo hinabol yung mama?
    2) ano ba ang protocol pag may tumakbong violator? dapat mo ba habulin?
    3) yung pinanghabol mo na sasakyan, marked vehicle ba o honda wave na hinuhulugan mo kay motortrade?
    4) trained ka ba para humabol?

    hindi sa kinakampihan ko yung mama na namaril, na mali naman talaga, pero palagay ko lang lulusot siya sa kaso...
