    meron kasi ditong parang steep hill, 2 lanes isa paakyat, isa pababa.
    pagdating mo sa baba, intersection with stop lights.
    nakita ko malayo palang orange na kaya full stop ako(hindi panic stop mabagal lang takbo) dahil delikado na sumugal. may mokong na L200 ang hindi tumigil at sinapul yung likod namin.
    buti nalang sparetire cover lang ang may konting gasgas.
    sabi nung mokong sa pulis..."kala ko kasi dederetso pa kaya binilisan ko pa"
    meaning:
    red-stop
    ORANGE-"at your own risk"
    green-go
    -ano dapat gawin pag orange na ilaw na any time pupula na.
    -kasalanan nung pick-up yun?

    red - stop
    yellow - warning/caution/ slow down about to turn red
    green - go.

    flashing yellow light - proceed with caution.

    hirap ng ganyan mga driver kasi akala ko akala ko ayun buti hindi kayo nasaktan.
    "kala ko kasi dederetso pa kaya binilisan ko pa" - sir may brake lights ka po ba or baka pundi na?

    orange means prepare to stop. malapit na mag-red. it doesnt mean stop. you should have proceeded with caution.

    Since nagmenor lang naman pala si TS at hindi yung full stop na tipong may pusa sa harap, okay lang iyon.

    Since hindi ko naman alam yung place, baka naman mahaba yung intersection ( i.e. yung sa edsa sa may kamuning, mahaba yun kaya pag yellow madami na ang hindi nagpproceed. ) kaya delikado na rin para sakanya ang tumuloy. And the fact na malayo pa lang ay nakita niya na yellow so pag tumuloy siya, aabutan siya ng red baka madisgrasya pa.

    Ang mali dun sa driver is, inapakan niya pa siguro ang silinyador niya ta's nung nalaman na hindi ka tutuloy, hindi kinaya ng brake niya.

    yes. siya bumangga... & sa likod pa.

    you did the right thing. kaso nga lang may idiot sa likuran mo.

    -ano dapat gawin pag orange na ilaw na any time pupula na.
    orange, means "warning, about to stop" or "prepare to stop". so if malayo pa lang nakita mong orange/yellow na.. slow down to full stop. pero pag-near ka na sa intersection & biglang nag-orange then deretso mo na.. sa gitna na hinto mo nyan if ever, we're talking about no traffic here...

    RED - Stop

    TANGERINE / ORANGE - Go very, very, very fast

    eto yung isang daan paakyat, matarik yung hill sa amin tapos yung baba diversion road so mabibilis talaga sasakyan, trucks usually dumadaan dito.
    napaka delikado talaga, mabilis ang dating ng mga kotse pababa at patawid dun sa intersection.
    delikado sumugal.

    i'm not here to blame anyone but the point is the thread starter stopped even without seeing the light turn red. he said saw the orange light and gradually stopped his vehicle. he didnt say the orange light turned red. i know being cautious is a driving necessity in our country. but being cautious is different from being overly cautious and tentative.

    i'm from the province where traffic light is non-existent. but when i drive in manila, i try not to drive tentatively. when i see orange, i try to gauge if i will be able to pass through or not. if it is still orange when i'm under the traffic light, i proceed.

    The problem here in metro manila is that some drivers from the opposite intersection tend to go straight ahead, upon seeing the opposite's traffic light turn orange(?) even if theirs is red ( READ: jeepneys ). I know it's their fault, but I think it would be best to stop right away.

    I also agree with shadow's point ... since the TS has complete working tail lights, the truck driver should have pressed the brake upon seeing the TS' tail lights turn red. There are 2 reasons on why did this happen ...

    1. The truck's brake was crappy.
    2. The truck's distance from the TS' vehicle is too near.


    In either ways ... it is still the truck drivers fault ;)

    Nadale na ko sa proceeding with orange light na yan eh..Ang nakakainis lang mga 5 meters na lang ang layo ko from the intersection eh, basta malapit na malapit na tapos biglang nag yellow e di syempre proceed na ko dahil nasa 30+km/h na takbo ko alangan namang i-slam ko ang brakes ng biglaan..Tapos pinara pa rin ako ng mga enforcer sabi ko alangan namang huminto pa ako eh kung masagi ako nung nasa likod ko..Ang nakakatawa pa, beating the red light ang offense ko.. kailan pa naging red ang color yellow?

    Obvious na gusto pang i-beat ng L200 yung stoplight..Dinamay pa niya ang TS sa "risk" niya..

    pero malayo palang ako nakita ko ng yellow, siguro isang segundo na lang pula na. ang nakakayamot kasi dun sa pangyayari, dapat hindi lang tayo tumitingin sa ilaw, kundi dun din sa kotse sa harapp natin.
    marami rin kasing tao ang may wrong impression sa yellow light.

    Green = Start honking your horns
    Yellow = Step on the gas
    Red = 3 to 5 cars more will pass

    Yellow means slowdown and yield to stop.

    Don't do what the STUPID and KILLER Bus drivers do.

    kahit gaano tayo kaingat sa pagmamaneho pag natapat tayo sa mga reckless driver
    kahit saan angulo mo tingnan talo yun naka bangga ka TS.
    -tailgating
    -over speeding.

    i try to keep at least 2 sec distance if possible.

    ^^ 2 sec is still near kung tumatakbo, should be 4sec sa bc road

    problema sa yellow light sa PH..masyado mabilis mag turn to red...dapat medyo tagalan yung pag ilaw ng yellow lalo na sa malalaking intersection. well still not applicable sa PH kasi nga kulang sa disiplina at edukasyon ang mga drivers sa pinas...saka yung gitna ng intersection is always a clearway...problema sa atin kahit traffic na sa kabilang side...then green lights..isasaksak pa din ang sasakyan
