different or not, to me this is really just common sense. no left turn means that there's just no safe chance for a driver to turn his wheels left whether to make a u-turn or just go left to the perpendicular road.
so, kung di ka man mahuli for a "violation", you are a high risk of road accident. any which way, talo ka.
^ nope. we should not intentionally break the law. during emergencies, we are (and should be) just asking for considerations to be exempted from the law.
problem is, it doesn't diminish the fact that the action is still not safe. accident-prone pa rin kase di naman alam nung ibang motorist ang emergency situation unless they all put to a stop one way or the other.
just be safe, everyone. lets not challenge the law as much as possible and practice self-preservation all the time. :-)
My cousin was apprehended in the US because he made a U-turn when there was a no left turn sign. My cousin of course said he didn't make a left but a U-turn. The police said "you actually made two left turns to execute a u-turn". So he got a ticket.
As far as I know only if a no u-turn sign is posted you can make a left, but if there is a no left turn sign then you can't make a left or a u-turn.
It's unsafe and "sabagal" to make a u-turn at that area. You are disrupting the flow of traffic. I think people should use their common sense din when driving. Obvious naman na alanganin mag u-turn dun.
The officer just didn't know how to explain his side kaya pinalagpas nalang yung thread starter.
Why can't you guys just go around St. Luke's or Rizal drive if you want to go to Kalayaan?
There’s a big no left turn sign, pero once may mga MAPSA dun and I inquired kung pwedeng mag u-turn and pinayagan naman ako. Better magtanong muna sa mga traffic enforcers sa area kung pwedeng mag u-turn before you do so.
Sa Mindanao Avenue going north right where it meets Quirino Avenue meron duon NO LEFT TURN pero walang NO U-TURN.
Duon pwede kasi mag U Turn.
The same with EDSA going South at the Tuazon-Edsa intersection in Cubao. May U-Turn duon pero hindi pwede mag left turn (one way Tuazon in the first place).
Hi,
afaik, hindi po siya sabagal or mag disrupt ng flow. dahil hindi sabay ang 'Go' signal for both lanes. naka stop ang kabila so its clear na pwede mag U-Turn.
from the day i have posted this question, me and my officemates that have vehicles observed this intersection since nakikita namin siya sa bintana namin and if we eat near that area, madaming sasakyan ang nag u-uturn at this slot. at the same time may mga bonifacio guards na naka tambay sa area. pero hindi nila hinuhuli.. even taxis, vans, even delivery trucks na nakikita namin.
ang pagkakaalam ko, you cannot have a U-turn if left turn is prohibited.

If you are on a right hand drive vehicle with a right side lane does it mean that No Right Turn is the Same with No U Turn?
madaming may kanya-kanyang sagot dito.. may nag sasabing pwede.. may nagsasabing hindi pwede...
FYI, that corner I was asking about already has number of complaints here in Global City. They now just put up a no-u-turn sign a few days ago..
additional FYI.. a number of these same no left turns are seen in makati area but they are allowing u-turns..

the big x-yellow box in the middle of an intersection means "Keep intersection open." at iba ang ibig sabihin ng "no left turn" sa "no u-turn." no left turn is a 90º turn heading on the left side while a u-turn is an act of turning about-face (of course hindi mo sasalungatin iyong flow ng traffic aka counter-flow.)
OK... point taken.
FYI too... they are allowing U-Turns simply because they can't stop them all... and simply because most Filipino motorist simply don't know how to folow simple rules. Example: simple NO JAYWALKING... why do you think they started placing those guard rails despite the presence of those foot bridges?
And I am sorry for those who are insisting that if you make a U-turn that you are not going against the flow of traffic... that might be true, but did you ever stop and think that if the the traffic started to move and you get caught in the middle of the street, what would you do? You would have to wait in the middle of the street to let the cars pass by before you can actually make the U-Turn... wouldn't you?... would you still think you are not causing traffic if your car is in the middle of the street? That is the reason if there is a NO Left turn...it also meant you can't make a U-Turn.

You said it yourself: KEEP THE INTERSECTION OPEN
When one car makes a U-Turn... guess what? A COUPLE OF CARS FOLLOW. They can't all make that U-Turn... right? So what happens now?![]()
... Isn't that causing traffic when five or more cars are trying to make the U-Turn on a NO Left Turn sign?

*olidotcom - papaanong hindi sabay ang GO? na observe mo bang mabuti yung intersection? pag naka GO yung going to st. luke's naka GO din yung going to EDSA.. observe mong mabuti ok.
