Just to share my 2 cents', mga bossing... I believe wala po dapat u-turn sa area na yan. As mentioned in a post earlier, walang opportunity for you to make a safe u-turn na wala kang makakasalubong na lane na hindi rin naka-go. Ang mali diyan is the traffic department of Global City. They should also put a sign na no u-turn para claro sa lahat at hindi magkaroon ng iba-ibang interpretation. Medyo madalas po ako dumaan diyan sa area na yan, and honestly, hassle talaga yung mga nag-u-u-turn sa area na yan dahil naaabala yung mga nasa right of way. Not to mention, takaw aksidente pa... Thanks, sirs.

Yes sir, one way road na siya when you turn right at Jollibee. They already opened the road beside it (by net square). So that's the road that intersects with that main road (intersection of jollibee, St. lukes, Cats). That's the road you take if you're going left towards Kalayaan or right towards S&R. That is why now, there is really no opportunity for someone to make a safe u-turn in that big intersection without impeding the flow of traffic.

^+1 Jollibee to McDonald's is now one way. I passed by there last Tuesday and was mildly surprised at the development. I was also still hesitant to go on the left side of the road but eventually did so because I had to turn left towards Serendra.

As for the No-Left-Turn and No-U-Turn signs, authorities should really be very explicit. I remember a situation some time in the past where a U-Turn was permitted but a Left-Turn was not because the street to the left was one-way going out. I just couldn't remember where that was.

Ironically we did the same U-Turn on that same place where the thread starter did. Wala nga talagang "No U Turn" sign, but fortunately for us it was a holiday so there wasn't any enforcer around...

No U-turn and no left turn are two explicitly different things. That's why in Manila, they place both signs together.

Along Rizal avenue, if there is no 'No U-turn' or no 'No Left turn' sign, they you may proceed to do so. Otherwise, all other LRT pillars show both signs.

I have a question regarding 1 area here in Bonifacio Global City...

on 32nd street corner Rizal Drive, there is a traffic sign as "No Left Turn" from 32nd street going to Rizal Drive... (in front of Jollibee)

what I did was I made a U-Turn on 32nd street, going back to kalayaan (attached map screenshot).

I was flagged by a Bonifacio Global City Traffic Officer and said.. "Bawal ka mag U-Turn dyan..."

I in turn said that there was a "No U-Turn" sign.. and he said did you see the No Left Turn? kaya nga may No- Left Turn dyan eh.. bawal ka mag U-Turn...

HUH?!!?!??! so we came to an argument na iba ang U-Turn at Left-Turn...

after a while he said that may 'Yellow Box Paint' sa intersection.. kaya bawal mag U-Turn at mag Left Turn....

Sir tama ang Enforcer, kapag No Left Turn sign alone it means prohibited din mag U-turn, at kapag naman no U-turn sign alone pwede ka mag Left turn maliban nalang kung may nakalagay din na No Left turn. Yung yellow Grid sign or box ay wala kinalaman yun sa U-turn or Left turn doon lang mali ang Enforcer. Sinigawan pa na ng kasama mo yung Enforcer ha! hehe!

Kulang lang din sa Knowledge siguro yung Enforcer o baka natakot sa inyo hehe!

    Correct!

shouldnt the traffic lights be in control of the intersection as to who can make the turns?

What the California Driver's Handbook Say...
    http://www.dmv.ca.gov/pubs/dl600.pdf
    Legal U-Turns

Across a double yellow line when it is safe and legal.
    In a residential district:
if no vehicle approaching you is closer than 200 feet.
whenever a traffic sign or signal protects you from approaching vehicles.
At an intersection on a green light or green arrow unless a "No U-turn" sign is posted.
On a divided highway only if an opening is provided in the center divider.

    Illegal U-Turns

On a divided highway by crossing a dividing section, curb, strip of land, or two sets of double lines.
Where you cannot clearly see 200 feet in each direction because of a curve, hill, rain, fog, or other reason.
Where a "No U-Turn" sign is posted.
When other vehicles may hit you.
On a one-way street. Kung may No Left turn sa Harap mo it means ONE WAY YON at tatapak ka na sa jurisdiction nya.
In front of a fire station. Never use a fire station driveway to turn around.
In business districts. Areas with churches, apartments, multiple dwelling houses, clubs, and public buildings (except schools) are also considered to be business districts. Turn only at an intersection or where openings are provided for turns.

Funny our very own LTO teaches you HOW to make a U-Turn rather than tell you when or when not to make one.

    From LTO Website:
    U TURNS
U-turns are hazardous and are prohibited in some areas. When doing "U" turns, start turning from the extreme right side of the roadway. Check for traffic in both directions and make the proper turn signal. When the way is clear, turn the steering wheel sharply to the left while moving slowly forward. When the wheels are turned completely left, continue driving forward slowly until close to the left curb or edge or roadways.
After having turned the wheels completely on the right side, continue backing up slowly until close to the opposite curb. Repeat these maneuvers until turn is completed.

The hand book doesn't say that "No Left Turn" is the same with "No U-turn." They are simply different.

And the box with X means keep intersection open. It is not directly associated with no left or no u turn or no right turn.
