They pay 25,000 to get plates like these. But then again, sumuway na naman si Alkalde U-Know-Who.

If I'm not mistaken, part of the 25K you pay is coding exemption. 2-digit plates are meant to be distinguished. As for customization, you can also do that with the usual 3-digit ones, at a lower price, but for sure, this is subject to coding.

sa alam ko ang mga plates with two digits are still not exepted sa mga codings ... wat you pay for the 25k is the "uniqness" of it being a 2 number plate not of it being exepted.. so pag 77 ka edi thurs ka etc etc

special plates with 3 letters and 2 numbers (ABC 12) are not exempted sa number codings..

you pay the 25k premium to get your choice of 3 letters and 2 numbers.. while 15k for 3 letters and 3 numbers..

Quote from LTO: "The motor vehicle special license plate consists of alpha-numeric combinations and is considered as a regular license plate (one pair)."

Para wala kang coding..... bumili ka pa ng ilang sasakyan... 2 for you and 2 more for the wife and probably another 2 more for you eldest son/daughter who already drives....so on and so forth.... 2 more for the mistress???

Bottomline, nang dahil dun sa magaling na nagpauso ng odd/even scheme dati... eh lahat ng mga tao mahina ngayon ang dalawang sasakyan.... tapos ginawa naman coding na banned once a week lang ang sasakyan.... ayun!!! patay!!! lahat ng mga nakabili na ng OTHER CAR para sa odd/even scheme eh ngayon dalawang sasakyan ginagamit na tuluyan 4 days a week instead of the 2 to 3 days a week lang. Lets just say na 1 million registered vehicles within metro manila alone (hypothetical only), during the odd/even scheme, only 500K where allowed on the streets but when they changed it to coding, probably 800K where allowed to go around town. Opinion ko lang ito so open ako for a better explanation.

technically, hindi exempted sa coding ang mga 2-digit plates sa coding. but heard from someone in the know that the MMDA will not apprehend vehicles with 2-digit plates on their coding days. parang 'unwritten' exemption. so, being in makati where MMDA boys are off limits, huli talaga yan.

That's what I was talking about in another coding thread. Yes, coding is meant to reduce vehicle volume, but it hardly does. The richer guys can simply get a second car, and with tempting prices of used Nissans, they still get to drive for 5 weekdays instead of the intended 4. Thus, this just about amount to the same number of cars on the road had there been no coding.

    OT po.

One other source of exemption are those PNP stickers that are issued by the so called Police Justice Group. My cousin has one and he atttests to the benefits that he is getting for 2,000 pesos. He got an ID, letter from the PJG office and the sticker. He does not get flagged down by the MMDA, cops and Makati personnel.

Sorry kung medyo off topic but a few months ago, I was apprehended also sa Makati cuz yung ending ng conduction sticker ko is nagkataon same sa coding day. Wala pa me plates that time cuz bago lang auto.

Nagmamadali lang ako pumunta sa airport that time kaya di nalang ako nakipag-away at inabutan ko nalang yung nanghuli.
