Yup, i saw that around 5:50am kanina... If you saw the left side of the car wasak siya (the left wheel was torn off).
He probably wasnt familiar with the road, avoided something, or just wasnt paying attention (after avoiding the Maynilad water digging before those barriers); medyo visible naman yung mga concrete barriers near Ateneo if you compare it with the barriers on EDSA IMO.
sayang yung car. baka may iniwasan si driver at concrete barrier na lang ang pinili niya? or sana hindi siya nagte-text while driving.
probobly drunk or too tired from work/gimik + no reflectors on the concrete barriers = a recipe for an accident.
IMO - medyo kita naman yung mga barrier na yun if you are travelling at a normal pace.
dunno...aren't barriers like that supposed to be painted with bright colors(usually black and yellow), or with reflective paint/material? baka di lang nakita kaagad. buti walang ibang nadamay
Those particular barriers had the new reflectorized signs in front of them (a few meters before the concrete barriers).Originally Posted by badkuk

Nakikita ko rin yan nung dumaan ako dyan dati kaso dapat bright colors pa rin yung mga concrete barriers..Those particular barriers had the new reflectorized signs in front of them (a few meters before the concrete barriers).
I pass by Katipunan every night from work. From what I see, it's fairly easy to spot the barriers.
If the driver was unfamiliar with the road, prudence dictates that one drives at a safer speed, and stick to the right side of the road opposite to where the barriers are. From the damage sustained by the car due to the impact, this was definitely no slow driver. Could've been worse, though.
Judging from the picture posted alone, mukhang buo pa yung passenger cabin. Parang safety test na rin ito ng Mazda. Not sure lang kung umabante yung steering wheel or gas pedal resulting to chest or leg injury. Kaya make it a habit to wear seatbelts.
Another write-off for the insurance company.
sa extent ng damage... mukhang hindi pa naman uurong ang steering wheel and pedals.
though yung mga bagong vehicles... dapat minimal ang impact to the passenger area... kaya madaling mayupi ang frontal area to absorb most of the impact.
