kung titignan niyo mga thread dito sa goon squad parang apat ata ay tungkol sa counterflowing vehicles. very bad sign that our roads are becoming more dangerous. at tayo dito na lang nagsasalita at hoping na mag milagro ang langit. siguro ang pag may namatay na kilalalang tao or politiko dahil sa counterflow dito pa lang aaksyon ang mga kapulisan. sana hinde na umabot dito. merry christmas sa inyong lahat. safe and defensive driving lang mga tayo mga tsikoteers.

The best thing we can do is to look forward - to ensure that
the next generation learns proper driving habits and road
courtesy.
Itong generation natin hopeless na, most Pinoy drivers
drive too aggressively and has a "gulang" mentality.
Though I am not condemning them as we have to
posses some of these traits in order to survive in
our chaotic streets.
Can our children become better drivers than what
we are now? I know its a tall order but we can all
probably start by being good examples ourselves.

Magandang ibalik siguro si ping as PNP Chief or may gumaya man lang sa kanyang ginawa.

Agree here.
Respect comes from fear. (No fear,- no respect). Primal instinct iyan ng tao.

well for me maging ehemplo na lang tayo ng isang mabuting driver sa ibang mga tao.
kc in my opinion, the reason why people counter the flow of traffic or pass through "no right or left turns" is because they see others do it. Masyado kcng malakas un idea na ginagawa naman ng iba, might as well do it.

December 24th, 2007 07:59 AM #17it is a given na dapat tayong maging good examples. but the thing is, ilan lang tayo? halimbawa na lang sa counter flow... hindi nga tayo nag counterflow, pero some jerk decided to do so, at yung ibang mga bopols naman e magsisisunod na.

In my observation, one way for people to obey rules is to make it physically impossible to do so otherwise. the other option is to make the law enforcement more effective, and less corrupt (which is nigh impossible).
i.e. the pink fences erected all around sidewalks that stop jaywalking.
or those cemented pink fences that prevent buses from criss-crossing lanes, at least in front of farmer's cubao
A contact from the US told me about spikes that puncture counterflowers in a one-way street, and road paving that makes driving above a certain speed uncomfortable and dangerous (parang sunod sunod na gentle speed bumps daw ito, parang nasa maalon na dagat ang feeling pag dinaanan).
or we can just all be good drivers.

Don't get me wrong here bros and sis, being a good driver is our way of 'contributing' to the peace and order in our roads. But like any other change agent that comes against the way of the mob,- we will just be carried away by their st*p!d acts and chaos. (The same is true with an idealistic and straight politician that is engulfed by the institutionalized graft and corruption in our country,- sorry OT)
However, IMO, consistent and no nonsense implementation of the existing traffic laws and regulations is the answer to all those erring drivers. When a driver gets hurt financially, without anybody to pull him out of the mess he got himself in, then he will really learn how to follow traffic rules and regulations, no matter how absurd and irrational they are!, like no left turn but just a U turn one or two kilometers away, or a 4-way full-stop intersection where traffic is practically non-existent,- ganyan sa US, pero sinusunod ng mga Pinoy drivers.....
