Medyo OT lang: ask ko lang mga experts.. what would be the fair price for this used PC.. asking price nya is 12.5k.. all orig, libre na re-format. used for 3 years daw..
i just need an extra PC for my daughter..

Hinde naman overclocked yung card? Tapos yung fan ok naman? Normal lang na uminit yan. You could add some case fans kung wala ka pa, makakatulong yun sa overall air circulation sa casing, otherwise you could probably upgrade the cooler the video card has currently. As long as wala naman visible problems while playing games ok lang yung init.

i mean is:

clean the CPU, check bios for errors, fdisk, reformat, install xp, install drivers(kung mas bago ung sa akin, un ang ilalagay ko) and kung mayron silang sariling program/apllication/games, install ko na din kung gusto nila...parang all-in-all P500 pesos.."full working pc"...kung nagka-problem agad, balik nalang nila, free of charge..

Ok, P400 na lang sakin ang labor ko. Last price ko na. May chocnut saka softdrinks na. Kapag gurl ang customer, libre masahe pa. O san pa kayo?

Mga P7k pwede na. Malamang USB 1.1 pa yan na hindi na pwedeng ma-upgrade. Kung pinipilit niya eh 12.5k, dagdagan mo na lang ng konti meron ka ng brand new Pentium 4 na tatagal pa.

Yang DIAGNOSTIC FEE, yan daw yung hirap at pawis na dinanas nila sa iskwela para malaman yung theory nung sira ng computer mo. Kung baga, gusto nilang mabawi yung tuition fee na binayad nila. Pag inayos nila yung PC mo, yun yung LABOR FEE.

Parang yung doctor, mahal ang consultation fee, kahit hindi ka ginamot at nagtanong ka lang. Tulad sa computer repair, may mga kupal din na duktor, chika-chika lang ng konti eh P450 na kagad ang singil nila.

Meron ding mga tao na libre ang consultation fee. Tulad dito sa Tsikot, helpful mga tao dito. Free of charge.

Hehehe kaya pala pagkain lang lagi sinisingil ko. Halos lahat ng "theory" na natutunan ko sa computer puro informal reading at trial-and-error. I think nasira ko na Windows sa lumang computer namin kaka-kalikot... at least three dozen times hehehe. Kung may sirang hardware, everything has a place for you to plug it in - standard!

Yang mga computer "repair" shops, basta malaman nilang di ka marunong sa comps tatagain ka nila. Everytime dumaraan ako sa suking computer shop (kung saan ako nabili ng parts), marami akong nakikitang sticker na may nakalagay na:

Yung tita ko nga, one time sinigil siya ng P12k dahil ayaw bumukas ng Internet Explorer (pambili na ng bagong comp yun)! May dumating sakin na hard drive, CD-ROM drive, speakers, motherboard, at videocard na "sira" daw, baka may magawa ako. They were all working, so lahat sila ngayon nakakabit sa isang computer somewhere.

I have to say, nagrereformat lang talaga ako kung absolutely necessary (washed out na talaga yung OS). My friends actually bring their computers around here, and this is how the conversation often goes:

Friend: Anong sira? Format na ba yan?
Me: We'll see. Kung kaya pa ng Windows install mo, linis lang katapat niyan.
<2 days later>
Friend (on the phone): Pare anong ginawa mo sa PC ko bakit ambilis?
Me: Hehehe. Magic. Joke lang cleanup job ginawa ko diyan.

Mahal. 7k would be more like it. In fact, best value for money is a NEW PC for 16k, Pirated Edition nga lang kung Windows ang gusto mong paandarin.

BTW, a little nitpick here, your "14 LG Monitor is NOT digital, if my presumption that it's a CRT is correct. No CRT monitor is digital - they don't need to be, anyway.

Definition nila ng digital, instead of having those old analog adjustments sa harapan ng monitor, buttons yung meron... hehe

There is always linux if you want to try something different that isnt pirated.

I've tried Mandrakelinux, and I have to say it's good if you're not into gaming very much. Just takes a little getting used to (well, everything new does, really).
