It is a bit scary though if they actually had guns. Even if the weapons were not drawn out initially, they could easily pull it out their backs and start firing. That's the scenario I am most wary about.

Won't shoot if you don't give them reason to. Most of the time. If you engage in a war of words, escalating into hysterical yelling, that's when the red mist starts.

But still... you have the biggest weapon of all. A running motor vehicle. If the draw weapons, move to ram them. Their first instinct will be to dodge. Then aim for their vehicle (preferably the rear) if it's blocking you and push it aside. Know which direction you're aiming for and keep your head down.

Number one lesson from security driving schools... a moving target is harder to hit. If you stay inside the vehicle and exchange fire with armed men, you're dead. If you can move, your chances of survival grow higher exponentially. This is drilled into every security escort and driver overseas. To get away first rather than exchange fire. If you let your opponent choose the time and place of the gunfight, you're at a significant disadvantage, especially since: 1.) They can pick their own cover and 2.) If you stay in the vehicle, you're an easy target, if you try to exit the vehicle, you become an easy target.

Run away. This has been proven in the real world as the best course of action, whatever the weapon load-out of your enemy.
