Takot ang SUVs sa GS mo. :D
I agree also that once upon a time, marami sa atin ang gustong pumatol sa nagmamabilis and in my case i've also learned my lesson the hard way. If one vehicle lets up after the other gets ahead then that's fine but it becomes dangerous if they continue to try to get ahead of each other all the way, even if traffic builds up as this results in cars cutting off one another and tempers flaring. Buti nalang at tumatanda na ako and having kids strapped to their seats behind me always serves as a constant reminder to be cautious when someone starts being an idiot next to me on the road.
What i truly enjoyed were the few occasions late at night where i would even have a friendly run with some random vehicle who's also doing a good pace. We would run through the highway, the towns along McArthur or up Kennon road at a pretty fast clip but the nice thing is the drivers of both vehicles don't make any attempt to pass unless it's necessary or obvious that the other can get ahead; if one does try to pass, nagbibigayan and you slow down to let them pass safely. When we're passing other vehicles, nag-sisignal as well. When we turn off to different roads, there's a friend honk between the two cars. There was a time in Subic many years ago, on the mountain road going up to the housing, where i kept pace behind a Nissan California (boxtype) which was pretty well driven (smooth at that!). When we got to the housing, the driver was an elderly foreigner with white hair and he just gave me a thumbs up sign (unless it was the middle finger...

).
