Mga kababayan, I am a new supervisor in a Call Center Support company. My Boss gave me a job to handle a project. Dito na dumating ang problema, Ung 4 supposed to be under me para sa project, napakahirap utusan. Hanggang ayaw na sumunod. Pero ung 4 naman eh ok. Ung 4 na un eh matagal na at dun binigay mga key roles w/c is A program that is written in assembly. The rest naman around 4 people eh ok. How the hell I can break these guys kung wala naman pala ako power. Daym! Ano kaya magandang gawin guys?

    goon squad agad? hehe.

assign specific tasks sa kanila. as in naka outline, each guy, specific task. may deadline and everything.

FIND THE PRESSURE POINT AND SQUEEZE UNTIL THE JUICE RUNS OUT. bayaan mo sila pagpawisan dun.

kaya hindi sila sumusunod sayo kasi baka magulo yung pagka assign mo ng work.

What were you doing all those time na alam mong hindi sila sumusunod at dumating na yung deadline at alam mong walang natapos? Wala kang ginawang plan?

Actually, you have the power of authority. It is different strokes for different folks so you have to adjust on how to relay their tasks. Some can do it with ease while others (especially yung mga matatanda na tinutubuan na ng ugat in their positions) are a PITA. If they're being hard headed then aside from verbally instructing them, you should email or at least put it down on writing what their tasks for the project are and also do communicated follow-ups and feedback so when the deadline comes and the finger pointing begins, you have the supporting documents to show who was doing their job and not.

Supervising people is a two way street. Alam mo naman yung Pinoy, kelangan may pakikisama.

Agree ako dito. I'm working abroad and sadly because of this 'pakikisama' attitude, I insist that my staff be composed of non-Pinoys. Although the local staff are technically not as skilled as Pinoys, they are more easier to manage, assign tasks, they dont take criticism personally, more professional. Basically mga Pinoys I've worked with are abusive and have this 'hanggang sa makakalusot attitude'.

Anyhow for the TS, command and responsibilty yan as far as your boss is concerned. At the start of the project, dapat malinaw yung responsibilities ng bawat team member mo. Dapat may status meeting kayo to detect any slippages. You should have mitigated these risks nung simula pa lang so that corrective measures were taken para hindi ma-jeopardize yung schedule at quality ng mga deliverables.

Sabi ni TS bago syang supervisor, kung senior sila sayo at naunahan mo sila ng promotion maaring may "inggit factor" pa yung mga yun...but try to talk with them personally....mag open talk kayo....

let us clarify first what is the primary function of supervisor
    - manage subordinates
    - provide weekly task
    - meeting every lastday of the week (accomplishment / plan for next week)
    - provide timeframe ( applicable if there is a certain goal)
    - all meeting should documented (Minutes of the meeting)

pag nagkaroon ng problem as what your problem right now then you have your proper documents to show which will support your skills as well

if any of this one fail then you failed to manage
