I'm sure there are a lot of guys here who own big bikes but i just can't let this pass. On my way to Manila i came across this group of bikers (mostly hondas) weaving in and out of traffic disregarding traffic rules. What irked me the most was seeing their leader cutting into the opposite lane (counterflowing) and motioning the approaching vehicles to make way for the other bikers. WTH? I was really disappointed because i thought that big bike riders were more disciplined than their scooter/tricycle counterparts. Oh well, they may have been the minority. Road rules are to be followed by everyone, no one is above the law. I am not generalizing here and am merely relaying what i personally observed today. I'm sure there are a lot of disciplined big bike/scooter/tricycle drivers. Drive safe and responsibly everyone! Happy Holidays!

i agree with you.. there are so many that go up to tagaytay on sundays and they just think they own the road.. well i dnt move out of the way for them.. one time i was driving and the leader hit his hand on my drivers side mirror.. i hope he broke his hand.. i drive a starex so i guess he will be more damaged as a person than i would be if he hit me head on,, i just dnt know why they do that... guess its just down to showing off.....

Yep.. big bikers with small ba**s... they are just showing off.. as if riding and owning a big bike is something worth bragging..

Had an experience with a biker in C5.. he is american who rides a BMW.. damnit.. keeps on blowing his puny horn and wants everyone to let him pass.. well.. same as with messagers plying makati isn't it?

Lot of accidents caused by bikers, big, small, scooters name it.. they are a hazard to the road..

Check this thread out, guys! http://tsikot.yehey.com/forums/showthread.php?t=45524

Sir moe, I hope hindi sila yung nakasabay mo. I hope not. Looks like they are enjoying their EBs and chikahan. Yun lang.

On second thought, ... big bike... tsikot..... parehong me engine, pero iba bilang ng gulong. Tama ba nasalihan nilang group forum? Just asking, hehehe.

Yes, I will have to agree this time that those bikers do not have the right to shove away incoming vehicles. I do apologize for this and I offer no excuse . Due to the zen feeling that bikers expect to enjoy during their weekend rides, some are being disregarded. I knew that this thread would come out one day.

For the forumer who was asking why a bike group is being promoted in one of the threads here in tsikot, please think otherwise. Dont you want cagers and MC riders to co-exist?

    Good day to everyone.

Tsikot > On the Road > Motorcycle Philippines Welcome To Club R!!! (weekend Eb Weekday Chikahan)

Sir for your info di naman ako gagawa ng thread if not related sa motor bike, this is the thread where i started its stated there "motorcycle".

I created a thread for those who like bikes. I'm cager too bakit naman kailangan pang isang pagkakamali ng tao eh lahat na damay.

Pano naman yung kasama ko nung naka bigbike we are on the right side of the road sudden cut of the cage did we blame all?...nope we only blame the rider not the cage riders.

Sir we ride bikes di sa kailangan pagyabang someone got it all wrong.

I'm a Biker and a Cager too God Bless and have a safe ride to all!

I sometimes encounter inconsiderate motorcycle convoys as well along the Tarlac-Pangasinan portion of MacArthur Highway. I mean, all of us have somewhere to go, and it's not like they are engaged in emergency or rescue operations, so they should just enjoy the journey and overtake only when it is safe to do so.

Palagi nga kami nagtatalo ni misis tungkol dito e, kasi as much as possible, pag nasa tamang lugar ako, hindi ako nag-gi-give way sa mga abusadong motorista. Sabi nya paano kung ma-aksidente kami o may makabarilan ako one of these days? Who will stand up for what is right?

I've been on a few rides with groups whose spearheads are required to wave their hand, flash their brights at oncoming vehicles while the group gets ahead and counterflows. I find this action very unnecessary. It just breaks the mood of a no-frills, and fun ride. One time, I had to tell off the spearhead to stop acting alike a "*&%" and just share the road with everyone else. Obviously I had to ride home alone.

As a motorcycle rider, I join fireblade in apologizing to other motorists for this unnecessary action done by my fellow riders out there.

To my fellow Tsikoteers, I ride a Vespa, and lately, big bikes too. I've joined rides with friends along Macarthur Highway, a two-lane national road almost throughout its entirety. I need enlightenment, given the seemingly adverse reactions (and even violent from some) against "5 alleged bikers" that this thread has generated.

Ang akin pong naaalala, mulat sapul, pwede mag-overtake with caution and within speed limits sa Macarthur highway kung walang kasalubong at walang "two (2) solid lines marking the middle of the road" or "one solid line marking the side of the road of the overtaking vehicle".

Samakatuwid, masasabi pong mali o hindi pwedeng mag-overtake sa MacArthur Highway kung may kasalubong o solid line on "your side of the road", or both. Thus, elsewhere, pwede pong mag-overtake, except road intersections or crossings, traffic lights, public markets, or roads with center grids or barriers.

So siguro, pwede nating sabihin na eto na yung pinagbabawal na "counterflow"---pag ang rider ay nag-overtake sa isang road intersection or crossing, traffic lights, public market, or road with center grids or barriers, and the rider uses the lane of oncoming traffic.

So if the alleged counterflow did not happen since it was not prohibited by our road rules and regulations applicable to MacArthur Highway, mayayabang pa po ba kaming mga nakasasakyan pag mag-overtake sa MacArthur?

I will end this reply with the same question that I started with. And I will explain to all after I get my response.

*n5110, what time did you encounter these 5 BMW bikers on January 6th?

Big bike convey even if some are not exactly following traffic rules and gmrc are not a common scene in our roads. The big problem at nakaka sira ng kotse at pasensya are the common small cc bikers in metro manila roads.
