Whats your take on this one.. On my personal note, he should've kept it low rather than doing such antic! and to add insult to injury, he gave monetary award and promotion at the expense of QC government.

I doubt.

The question is did the enforcer issue him a TVR? The promotion is okay with me, but giving money to him for doing a good job is not.

even if he was issued a ticket for that.. still what Bistek did is direct bribery and conduct unbecoming of a public official even done in good faith..

Binigyan yung TE ng monetary award for "just doing his job". Naknampating!

Hm... quite confused at all this hostility. I think this shouldn't be blown all out of proportion.

Sure, the enforcer was just doing his job, but...

...to me, this simply is a managerial prerogative, with the additional (intended or unintended) PR spin. Maybe it serves to raise morale or something... *shrug*

Still, it reminded me of the story I once heard of regarding Pres. Ramon Magsaysay and a police officer. Ah well...

I'm not in favor.. This is not just right.. Then, all of a sudden he's now promoted plus 10k petot bonus dahil sa traffic violation ni Mayor Bistek!!

Would this be a step to fame ng ilan pang traffic enforcers na baka ganyan din ang gawin at maka-tiyempo ng ganitong instant bigtime?.. Or has that example served a good purpose for others to do their job right being a traffic enforcer?

The 10k was from his pocket, not the local gov't.

It was not bribery, as he invited the enforcer (at first ayaw at nahihiya at baka daw pagalitan lang) to his office to personally receive the money - which came along with a promotion.

How's that bribery? For me mali ang ginawa nya, but that doesn't mean na sinuhulan nya ung tao. Hinuhusgahan nyo sila pareho pag sinabing suhol yun.

i believe the point here for the reward was the TE stopping bistek's car and cinformed him of his violation even if he knew already he was the mayor...but hindi rin naman siya tiniketan....ang maganda dito ay si bistek naman ay inamin na mali niya at hindi siya katulad ng ibang mga officials na maninindak pa.

I agree. Others would say, "Hindi mo ba ako kilala?!" Then speed away.

+1 agree.. I support bistek's decision to reward the TE as well as to own up that he was in the wrong.. If only our officials in the government and PNP recognized and owned up to their mistakes..

Nakakatuwa talaga tayong pinoy. The QC Mayor did it (not in his office but in a flag ceremony session which is a usual ritual in government) not as a press event dahil normal activity nila yun. If the press eats it up, then pagalitan ang press. If a "press event" was conducted afterwards, sigurado dahil sa pangugulit ng press yun.

I do not agree rewarding the TE with 10K. Hindi naman bribe yun (bribe is when you pay to seek a favor. Reward is when you give to recognize an act). Siguro ang original message was do your job well and you get rewards. Kaso paano yung ibang TE na gumagawa ng trabaho napapahamak at kinukutya pa (like forums....) e silently they do their jobs. How about them?

Thus we are called a Crab Nation. hayz.

Sadly I will agree with you based on comments here.

The mayor owned up to his mistake and it was a reward for the TE for doing his/her job properly.

so dapat palagi silang alerto at gumagawa ng tamang trabaho.
