I've wondered repeatedly since I won a raffle last year in the launch of Top Gear Magazine.

What it got me was a 4-day test drive of the BMW X3, and an overnight stay in San Benito.

I've tried to call BMW time and again when I could give the X3 a go "depending on availability".

Somehow everytime I suggested a date, the unit was inavailable. So I said, just advise me when it would be available. Apparent it never is.

I've in fact indicated to the Tsikot.com EIC that I also intended to write a review of the car last November 2004.

Last I spoke with a certain Raul Villegas and he told me to email him. He's seen my email and read it as indicated by readnotify.com.

However I've not gotten any response from them since my last email of March 29, 2005. Follow ups turned up nothing and not even a phone call was returned despite promises.

    Disinteresting isn't it?

Then again why sign a certificate which you have no interest of honoring?

    Perhaps business is too brisk.

Yeah, it's really disappointing when people renege on their promises & fail to settle their obligations.

Talk about BMW Philippine bullsh!t. They promised to get back to me about importing a 320d, the astonishing great BMW diesel I've been harping about awhile back, and have yet to get back to me. They said it'll take half a year to get it here. I'd have better luck finding Yamashita's gold than get a return call.

With customer service like this no wonder people preffer to import grey market cars even if it means no warranty and ironically enough these very same spazzes are all up in arms over grey markets.

If they cant respond properly to customer desires other will.

BTW the X3 is a rubbish SUV. For what you're paying for you may as well get a X5. Then again you're still dealing with BMW.

yep X3 is just a watered down X5, interior is crap for its price too. only the filthy rich buy it and after a few months wants to dispose it cos of the 'harsh ride'. bunch of idiots.

i disagree that the x3 is a crap car. i drove one for a week while my 330 was in the shop and i was very impressed with it. typical bmw (i.e. great) handling even for an suv, pretty good space, the ride was the perfect combination of comfort and performance which is what bmw's have become famous for. i prefer the looks of the x5, but looks are always subjective.

the interior and the features are comparable to a 3-series...i guess those are rubbish cars too

Yup, go to top gear phils.! try to get in touch with mike black. this is so infuriating. kainis talaga yang ganyang mga tao sa bmw. iisnubin ka lang kasi sino ka ba para test drive mo yung x3 nila. they think they wouldn't get anything from you so why bother. ang tagal na nyan ah. kainis talaga. na asar tuloy ako. kala nila kung sino sila. (puso ko puso ko...)

For the price they're asking it is crap. If the X3 were priced closer to the E46 3 Series it wouldnt be so crappy.

I dont think the filthy rich would trouble themselves with it. For just a little bit more you can get a better X5.

X3 is an american-designed/built BMW... It's a fake offroader, underpowered vehicle and ride quality is compromised according to Top Gear. Not so BMW.

is the x3 much more expensive than the 3-series in the philippines? dito kasi sa US, the 2.5 x3 is priced the same as the 325i, and the 3.0 x3 the same as the 330i.

i would suggest that the detractors of the x3 actually go out and drive the vehicle if they haven't done so already, preferably back-to-back with an e46 or an x5. you might be pleasantly surprised.

maybe if pink cadillac actually was allowed to go test drive the x3 we could settle this debate. you out there bmw ph? ;)
