adj & pl n
(Engineering / Automotive Engineering) the indicator lights of a motor vehicle when flashing simultaneously to indicate that the vehicle is stationary and temporarily obstructing the traffic Also called hazard warning lights hazards
Funny.. masama ang panahon sa mga nakaraang araw diba? and halos lahat ng drivers na kakilala ko they all say
turn your hazard lights on pag zero visibility, i tried correcting their misconception and guess what? ako pa yung nagmukhang katawa tawa. naawa naman ako sa sarili ko..![]()
may nakita akong ambulance. naka on na lahat ng ilaw, blinkers, siren. tapos yung hazard naka on pa.
tama ba yun?
Actually, according to friends in rescue services, an ambulance should use the light bar and headlights only.
Same reason. Without the use of your blinkers or turn signals, you cannot tell other road users when you have to stop (katabi mo na yung accident or emergency location) or when you have to turn off or merge.
And it creates a precedent. What will people think? If you have your light bar and blinkers on, it's an emergency, but when you only use the light bar, it's not?

Truly zero visibility means you will have to drive way below the minimum speed limit or stop. On inner city roads, there is no minimum speed limit, so only use the blinkers when you stop. On the highway, if you're driving 40 km/h or below, then use your blinkers... And pull the f**k out of the passing and middle lanes. If you really have to drive at half the speed of regular traffic, you should be on the shoulder... Just like the highway patrol. THAT is why they use their blinkers... Because they are going slower than the minimum on the shoulder lane, looking for broken down cars, rocks and other hazards.

I've driven through the bad weather for the past few days, or past week. And I'm constantly seeing cars with their hazard lights on, and they're weaving from left to right then back. They become road hazards. It's ok, atleast for me, to weave in and out of traffic, during heavy downpour if you use your signal lights properly... again, PROPERLY. But if you just have your hazard lights on then you leave all the guessing to the other motorists, you're crazy af.
Dapat kasi ikalat sa media 'to especially on TV para ma-correct ang misconception. Mag-interview sila ng expert or make a short clip about it. Hangga't di nangyayari yan magmumukha lang tayong katawa tawa dito kung ico-correct natin yung iba.
I think nag tweet MMDA nun isang araw about this. Huwag daw buksan hazard

Animal na hazard light na yan! Nag-away kami ng asawa ko dahil dito. Pababa ng Tagaytay, kapal ng ulan, fog pa. Sabi on ko raw yung hazard lights para makita kami. Sabi ko naman hindi na kailangan dahil naka-on na fogs ko front and rear, ayun nag-talak!
Hindi pa rin ako ng hazard lights ..... :D
Maya-maya inexplain ko kung bakit bawal mag hazard lights pag tumatakbo ... nag-sorry, sabay sabi hindi nya alam, at hindi na rin daw nya gagawin pag sya nagmamaneho. Good Girl ...![]()
