MANILA, Philippines — (UPDATE) One of the suspects in the late morning robbery in a watch shop in Greenbelt 5 was killed by authorities, as police continued to scour the perimeter of the Ayala-owned mall in Makati City for armed men who broke in the posh shopping mall Sunday.
The suspect was seen lying in front of the watch shop.
Police Officer 3 Joy Catapang said the robbery inside the Rolex watch store in Greenbelt-5 happened shortly before noon.

For a few hours, the entire complex was cordoned off as shoppers remained inside while police teams pursued the robbers believed to be still inside the establishment.
But normal operations have resumed in Greenbelt 1, 2, 3, and 4, although Greenbelt 5 remained closed.

Vehicles parked in the mall were also prohibited from leaving.
Authorities are still pursuing at least 11 suspects, according to a report by radio dzMM.
A bodyguard of Taguig Mayor Freddie Tinga, who was reportedly having lunch at the time of the incident, killed one of the robbers, reports said.

Makati councilor Jun Jun Binay is currently in the scene of the crime. [/quote]

    Stupid robbers. hahahhaa.

Why rob an establishment that obviously doesn't scrimp on security?? akala nila they can pull the same stunt they did at SM Malls with Ayala Malls.

Dapat pinatay nila lahat yan. Si Binay dapat umalis sa crime scene, baka mapagkamalan syang magnanakaw!

Marami ba nakuhang rolex watches yung mga robbers, or cash only?

If they were able to make off with a huge loot in kind, then sigurado
mga high-end customers ang mabebentahan nila kasi sobra mahal
    ang Rolex.

The police should stake out the Batasan complex and see who among the tongressmen have new Rolex watches, hehehe.

robbers nowadays are much more dangerous and wise.
