Some suppliers' ink strips are really photosensitive, and will fade if exposed to bright sunlight for too long. You really won't know that this will happen until a few months after you start printing, when constant exposure to sunlight breaks down the chemical inks on the ID.

You can't really blame the LTO for this... but the supplier, and if they changed the supplier, no further problem... just provide renewal for free for those who are still two years away from their renewal date.

The solution to this is to always keep your license in a license jacket and only bring it out when you really need it. This will slow down the fading.
That's exactly what I did, kept my license along with the OR in a clear plastic
jacket. The problem arose when I had to remove the license as the bank
where I opened an account wanted to photocopy it.

Ayun, dumikit yung ink sa plastic jacket. Nalipat yung mukha ko sa plastic
at nabura sa license! Paktay ako nito pagnahuli ako sigurado pupunahin
yung license ko, driving without a face, hehehe!
