Earth Hour: Don't Shut Off Street and Traffic Lights!

It was bad idea to turn off street lights lalo sa parks. Sana yung mga restaurants and houses na lang ang kasama para at least dinner by candlelight kagaya ng resto sa tapat ng office namin. E kung maholdap ka pa sa park or mabangga sa highway?

IMO, maganda naman ang goals ng Earth Hour. Yun nga lang hindi dapat pinatay yung sa mga places the dapat may proper lighting for safety.

tsk.... i almost had an accident too at the corner of mia road/coastal road intersection because of that turned-off traffic lights earth hour.

mukhang hindi nagisip yung mga local mayors natin that time.

IMO - Earth Hour is pretty much stupid really... no offense to the organizers and supporters but this thread pretty much shows the consequences of a pretty lame gesture to "save the Earth".

They should just focus on the real environmental issues at hand (like garbage segregation, proper vehicle use, industrial waste dumping, etc.).

Besides, I don't think they shut off the power plants during earth hour.

i also was in buendia in makati last saturday at 8:15pm. all the street lights were shut off due to the "earth hour"

I didnt know at first what is this earth hour, kaya nagulat ako ng biglang magshutoff lahat ng street lights at buendia ave that time. wag na nga sana nilang isama ang street lights dahil delikado sa mga motorist pag madilim ang mga kalye kahit na 1 hour lang yun.

noon nga nag-drive ako sa Ortigas tapos patay ilan ilaw, binuksan ko bintana ko tapos sabi ko sa misis ko, parang lumamig yata o may malamig na hangin ang galing

tapos binara ako ng misis ko, eh bakit pag brown-out ang init-init!!!
