Kanina yun i gave way na ambulance was a grandia.

    From the link :

    Same sentiments here

Kanina lang masakit sa mata. Since i already gave way for the ambulance so nasa katabing lane na ako after ako nasilawan lumayo pa ako na husto around 7 to 8 cars away. Paano kung sa traffic? Baka magkaroon na ng temporary color blind yun driver sa likod ng ambulance

Baka next time yan wala na mag-give way sa mga ambulance para lang hindi sila masilawan ng rear strobe lights

When running code 3 (lights and sirens) the ambulance/fire truck/emergency vehicle won't last for more than a minute or two in front of your vehicle even in the heaviest of traffic jams (unless the road is closed on purpose). We will find a way to safely weave through traffic even in EDSA gridlock. I drive an ambulance and I have been trained on this. I'm pretty sure Aeromed transport officers got a helluva lot more training than me. Sa years of experience pa lang nila, talo na ko.

And yes, training is not only about driving but the proper control of emergency lights and audio equipment. That's why you will notice, Aeromed units don't flash their hazards while responding or transporting patients (unlike ambulances of smaller hospitals and government units whose drivers aren't specialized for the task). The signal lights are left available so Aeromed transport officers can signal their intention to turn to other motorists. Also, note how the siren tone changes when the unit is going to force its way through an intersection as opposed to when it is cruising on an open road. The rear blinding lights do come off when forward progress is delayed for a significant period of time. But once the road opens up, they come on again to discourage tailgaters trying to take advantage.

When you see an emergency vehicle, just pull over to the right. No ifs, ands, or buts.

DOCOTEP, how about naman po for example: midnight, bihira na po ang dumadaan na mga kotse, maluwag na po ang traffic, tama po ba yung naka-patay lang ang siren then naka-on lang yung flashing lights, meron po kasi akong nakasabay na ambulance last night on sta.rosa hi-way (that was around 12:30 midnight), naka-on lang yung flashing lights niya tapos siguro 10 meters away na lang siya pa-overtake na sakin, he sound his siren then paglagpas sakin pinatay ulit.

Sir if a patient expires on board, dapat may doctor na mag-pronounce. If wala, ang instruction namin is to still treat it as an emergency.

Heto fresh pa. Kaninang hapon lang. We were running code 3 on EDSA with a foreign national patient on board. Stroke case po from out of town en route to a large medical facility in Metro Manila.

Out of the blue, after we overtook a black Toyota Fortuner with license plate ZCF 186 it starts chasing us. If someone tries to cut off, he will give a long press of his vehicle horn. Driver's window was open, driver was smoking. Looks to be in his 30's or 40's, light complexion, thinning hair, chinky eyes, overweight.

I started taking photos thinking that the flash would dissuade him from following since he knows we are documenting him. But he still tries to keep up. I took a video but my camera memory was almost full. Didn't catch a lot of the close calls he had. It's stupid to think you can outrun and outweave drivers of big name private ambulance companies. The transport officers are highly trained to handle traffic and handle patients. And our equipment are designed to clear traffic and expedite travel.

Let's just wish he'll be needing an ambulance soon. And hope the ambulance suffers 2 flat tires while he's being transported.

On the youtube video comments area, a user by the name of 'SeanMiller' complains about the video and apparently sees nothing wrong with what the Fortuner did. hehe.

Or maybe just trying to be a tough guy behind a keyboard.

    Three things...
    1. The dude's blind,
    2. A complete idiot ; or..
    3. .. He's the one who's driving the Fortuner.

    Or maybe, all the above.

Actually wala pang sop sa satin. But if you cannot totally rule out a neck or spinal injury or if the injuries are severe enough that you cannot just throw them in the backseat, better call for help. Another case is if the victim is trapped inside or pinned by a vehicle or structure. Some patients have gotten more injured in the tricycle ride or being improperly extricated than from the crash itself.

Get bystanders to move away from the scene, call for the authorities (eg barangay personnel) to help you out.
