    yes kailangan idaan sa angas

    powertripper kasi mga gwardiya

when they perceive they can't bully you they won't harass you

when they perceive kayang-kaya ka niya they'll stop you

There are people who buy cars for the clout. So to your point, you’ll see heavily modded old cars na gandang ganda sila within their car circles, pero sa mata ng sekyu, old car lang yan.
    that was my point

    luma is luma

sabi kasi ng iba "basta well maintained" which i don't agree

sa mata ng gwardiya luma is luma

    technology has marched forward, naman.

    back in the day,
    older cars really looked... old!
at ten years old, the paint was faded... rust bubbles abounded... many parts cracked or missing (mahal or mahirap hanapin spare parts).

today, with a minimum of maintenance, even twenty-year old cars still look good.

It depends on the type of sekyu

Village gate guards are notoriously more strict than mall guards. Office building guards are also strict

In my experience it doesn't matter to most guards whether I show up in a new model BMW or a 10 year old Kia. Appearance also matters.

This thread is amusing. I agree though, na maraming taong ampaw.

I can say from experience though, most of the REALLY well off people I know, don’t put on airs. They usually keep a low profile din...

Yung mga wala, yung pang kung umasta minsan kala mo...
One case in point nakwento ko na dito sa forum in another thread, branded lahat, pilit ginapang ipasok mga anak in expensive schools, not for better quaiity educ. (but para maka "connect" with kids of moneyed people) can't be seen in anything less than an Accord, but is up to their eyeballs in debt.

Ideal customer nga sila ng banks & financial institutions though. The type who somehow manages to pay the barest minimum to avoid from defaulting, but keeps accruing interest & finance charges for the longest terms as possible. It's their life and none of my business, but the problem is, they're annoying, arrogant and as tacky as hell... and press release nila sa mundo is they're living the good (?) life.

Sa akin? What's the point of having an LV wallet kung wala namang laman...

    heh heh.

    magkano ba toyota 86 ngayon...?
    yung heavily tinted, ha!
puede na rin siguro ang lancer GSR...
so her assumption is all 2 door cars are expensive hahaha

Cars don't impress me especially now with so much new money (though I have to admit that I am curious to see drivers of STis hehehe). I'd rather date an Atenean working an 8 to 5 job driving an Altis/Civic than a tacky youtuber (parang yung lalaki sa Jamill) earning millions a month driving a Ferrari

I don't park next to dilapidated and or dirty vehicles

LOL grabe naman. Siguro dahil babae ako kaya SGs are nicer. I have to give it to Filipinos, mabait sa mga babae. Even drivers, basta nakita babae, automatic magbibigay

What it really takes for guards to respect you.

But joking aside, clients have told us that 8 plates are liabilities and they seldom use it.

meron pa bang nag-i-isport nitong "8" plate?

a topgear article says the "8" plate has been deemed illegal after 2016.

Laki nga ng advances in paint technology.

My neighborhood suking talyer does a lot of classic car restorations. Many of the old cars they get from the 60s-70s tend to have good portions of the body rusted out, but after sanding down to bare metal and replacing the rusted parts with new sheet metal, modern primer and paint is able to keep them in good condition just like you would expect with a newer car.

funny joke between is friends (and colleagues)

tao behind a nice car? mas malaki yung waist line compared sa chest.

funny na when we were younger, wife didn't allow us to buy this and that.

ngayon na its getting harder and harder to be in shape, then more than half of our hair is grey.

may Vespa na ako sa garage and some of my friends no longer have a rear seat

Di lang old cars, even small cars di masyado nirerespeto ng mga sekyu. Dyan sa Poblacion area ng Makati, naalala ko nung dala namin yung Fiesta, di kami pinayagan mag park ng sekyu ng isang resto sa harapan. Months later, pumunta kami same area at dala namin yung XT. No problem sa sekyu. Nag assist pa to control traffic while i was parking. Hahaha

On a lighter note: maybe if we didn't listen, we wouldn't be here today to be able to enjoy these things (namatay tayo ng mas maaga)

I spent a few months in Vancouver some years ago. One thing I noticed in some neighborhoods was that the guy/girl behind the wheel of some high end cars (GTR, Z3, etc.) was some "kid" in their late teens or mid 20's at most - dito its usually someone 55 or older, usually older... right?

When I mentioned this at the dinner table with my relatives they said:

"Ah, mga anak yan ng mga Taipans from China/HK/Macao etc., who were sent here to Canada by their parents for college, and yes, kotse nila yun, hindi yung tinakas lang sa garahe for a spin"

To think when I was in college, I considered myself already fortunate enough to have been given anything to drive lang, even if it broke down half the time...

Do people discriminate against old cars?
