    i like old cars.
they remind me of my youth, back when folks used their brains and elbow grease, and not just bringing it to the shop for repair for every other little noise the car made.

buying a new car is the easy way. anybody with money can do it.
maintaining an old car takes more effort, and shows character.

a colleague drives an old car.
...had share of folks' bias against old cars.
many older colleagues here, drive old cars.

our parking directors here have heavy respect for old cars. alam nila, hindi estudyante ang nagmamaneho.

Ano pa yung mga small cars like the Mirage, Eon, etc ? Yung mga subcompact (City, Vios, etc) kasi ngayon yung standard car option nowadays like the compacts (Civic, Altis, etc) 20 years ago.

Yes doc, sa old cars ako natuto mag linis or palit ng spark plugs and contact points, with timing (dwell angle) adjustment according to "feels", linis carb, palit drive belts etc.
Heck, even pagpapalit ng mga crossjoints sa 4x4 namin noon natutunan ko out of necessity and curiosity, hehe.

I miss the simplicity of the mechanicals of cars back then.

Same here. I had an old Lancer na carb. I could do little things such as change bulbs or kalas kalas sa interior. Kaya ko rin i change oil. Malakas loob ko magbaklas pero pag di na mabalik, good thing I had my brother to fix my mess haha

Yung present car ko, I never even open the hood.

wala tayo magagawa ang society natin judgemental

pag di ka naka late model car ang tingin sayo can't-afford

baket ka naka old car kung kaya mo mag new car?

    Very true.

When I bought my sub 1M vehicle, sabi ng mga naka SUV friends ko na “bakit yan lang ang binili mo?” I answered them that since I don’t have 1M, why should I buy a vehicle of that value?

Note: at least I did pay cash [emoji1308]

Through my observation, the answer is yes.

If I drive the OTJ series 1989, some drivers simply cut right in front at times and seldom get a 'salute' from the gate guard on duty unless he recognizes the driver 🤣🤣🤣

    haha

ung nagagalit agad pag napagkamalan poor... huwag sila mag small car

Do people discriminate against old cars?
