yesterday, pumunta ako sa robinson's galeria at around 2:30pm at magpapark doon sa basement, so wala ako makitang paradahan sa B1 so andar ako papuntang B2, yung daan pa naman doon sa parking ng rob ay madaming singit singit na madalas magmemerge into 1 way pababa ng B2 at B3, so bigayan, may nauna sa akin na BMW 730 na kulay parang light blue green at walang tint kaya nakita ko driver yung nagmamaneho at wala pang plate probably na susunduin yung amo niya, sa harap niya is a white mitsu adventure na nakakita ng parking slot so tumabi siya at poporma na magrereverse parking, ito namang bmw sa harap ko di nabasa yung gagawin nung adventure since di naman naghazard lights para makita namin intensyon niya to park, so dumeretso ng konti yung bmw at nung napansin niya na nagcut bigla yung adventure para makakuha ng bwelo magpark paatras, sobra na yung harap nung bmw so ginawa nung bmw ay nagreverse ng dahan dahan, at napansin ko na tuloy tuloy yung pag reverse niya towards me ( meron mga 4-5 feet ang agwat namin) so nung tuloy tuloy siya nagbright na ako para mapansin niya na may sasakyan sa likod niya pero tuloy tuloy parin siya( di niya siguro makita at maliit I assume yung nagddrive kasi di ko makita ulo niya sa headrest or maybe mataas lang talaga headrest ng bmw) so bumusina na ako ng 2 tapik para marinig na niya pero tuloy tuloy parin siya ( siguro ulit kulang pa yung pag atras niya at tatamaan parin nung adventure) then binusina ko na ng matagal to really get his attention pero tuloy tuloy parin at ayun THUD with a crack sound! naramdaman ko na yung bangga nung rear bumper niya sa harap ko. mahina lang yung tama since dahan dahan yung pagatras niya, so bumaba na ako at bumubusina yung mga nasa likod namin kasi naiinip narin sila, nakita ko basag at may mga crack yung clear glass plate cover ko pero Thank God! walang damage sa bumper ko, sa kanya naman bumakat yung 2 turnilyo ng plate covers ko with a rectangular print na scratch na may mga pababa pa na scratches due to the glass probably, so kinausap ko yung driver pero kalmado ako ( hindi naman ako madali magalit) sabi ko:

AKO: manong naman, hindi mo ba nakita yung ilaw ko pati narinig yung pagbusina ko?
DRIVER: naku! sorry sir, hindi ko namalayan na ganoon kalapit na pala
AKO: ayan, nabasag yung plate cover ko buti nalang at walang damge dun sa bumper

tinignan din niya yung damge sa bmw at napansin ko na parang dismayado na parang nalugi yung mukha niya, so medyo naawa din ako kasi sigurado na yari siya sa amo niya kasi bago yung sasakyan tapos ganun bigla nangyari, so eventually pinabayaan ko nalang kasi mura lang naman clear glass cover sa aguila at sigurado ako na mahal damage sa kanya at nakakaawa naman yung driver..

so lesson learned: maglagay ng glass cover to give minor protection like in my case at siguraduhin na kabisado at tantyado ninyo na talaga yung sasakyang minamaneho ninyo..

I actually had the same experience some years ago here in Alabang, inside the compound of S&R PriceSmart. I was at least a meter and a half behind a car, which was parked near the entrance as I was dropping off my wife before I park our van (note: big vehicle). The driver, suddenly backed up. I was blasting my horn and flashing my headlights when he got 'dangerously' close to our vehicle, but he still bumped the van. Slight nudge, but just the same, he hit the van.

Then, he suddenly surged forward, I thought, to evade me. We followed him. However, he drove to a dead-end of the parking lot and I thought since he cannot get away, he parked. I then parked our van behind his car and told him that he bumped our van and should be answerable for it.... Well, the ensuing argument went nowhere. It's a good thing that I didn't hit him as I was tempted to get even somehow... It was just a small scratch on our vehicle anyway, but again, it's his intention to get away from something he should be answerable. The driver, I remember looked like in his 50s, who was with his wife and a couple of teenage kids. Not a good example for a father!

A couple of fellow driver/car owners, who witnessed the incident, approached me and volunteered that they will scratch the car and flatten his tyres, as they were also fuming mad for the actions of the other driver.

It was me who pacified them, actually, and told them that he'll get his measure somehow, somewhere.....

meron siguro back up sensor baka hindi lang na detect yung sasakyan sa likod nung bmw..

btw, regarding those back up sensors, even though your vehicle is equipped still better to have your visual estimation and instincts while parking, i have seen several vehicles that have back up sensors and still bumped their back while backing.. and most of the time SAPUL na SAPUL yung sensor nila mukhang tumama sa maliliit na poste

kaya siguro atras ng atras yung BMW kasi may back up sensor sya at hinihintay nya na mag signal yung sensor ayun nagdinig na lang nya yung CRACK sound hehehe

... i think 7 series not only have back up sensors but side and front collision sensors as well .

I always put bumper protectors on my rides for just this purpose. Seems having backup sensors have now resulted in more carelessness and driver error, thus negating the benefit of backup sensors!

Pero bakit po nasa goon squad ito eh hindi naman niya sinasadya. Inamin pa nga niya ang kasalanan eh.

sir baka naman sobrang ganda nung deadening nung 730 series
kahit malakas na yung sound sa labas ndi mo pa rin naririnig :D
