ako medyo pessimistic pero hunch ko lahat ng mga pulis na yan magkakasabwat! alam na pala nila yung hotspots hindi sila gumawa ng "bait hotcar" para mahuli yung mga *&#$% carjackers na yan! or maybe nasa payroll sila ng isang malaking syndicate kaya instead of protecting us civilians ang pinoprotektahan nila is yung mga carjackers!! dapat payagan ng magkaroon ng permit-to-carry ang mga civilians like us ng high-powered weapons!! he he kahit shotgun lang, pag-nag-cut sya sa iyo paulanan mo ng shotgun shell shrapnels para makatakas ng mabilis or kung talagang gigil ka todasin na, uso naman ang "perfect crime" dito sa bansa natin e!

I heard some info that they are exporting the stolen SUV's to ASEAN member countries kaya wala na silang pinipili, basta mamahaling SUV. For sure malaking syndicate ito. Yung ibang binebenta sa gray market mukhang mga carnap din sa ibang bansa eh. so parang nagbabarter lang sila.

It is better to avoid not only the places mentioned but also dimly lit and deserted streets especially during the wee hours. Kung hindi rin lang kelangan lumabas sa mga oras na iyon, stay at home. Safe ka pa at ang ride mo.

Yep! Kaso ubos na yung "G" prefix for Cebu and they started using the "Y" prefix this year (if I'm not mistaken).

I mean, I'm not sure if Cebu started using the "Y" prefix this year or late last year.

Guys, sana kung lahat ng mga mamahaling SUV e may wireless immobilizer feature like what we are now selling, maprerevent natin clang makaalis ng malayo. Tracking is possible thru Smart/Globe locator. Kaya mas secured ka. PM me for those interested.

    Carjackers stalking Pasong Tamo Extension

    The Philippine Star 10/13/2005

Motorists beware: there’s another high-risk area in Makati City.

Drivers have reported that the underpass area of the Pasong Tamo Extension is now a favorite night spot for roaming car thieves who are quick to cut off targeted SUVs, alight from their vehicles and approach with guns raised.

In one incident last Tuesday night at 10:30 p.m., the driver of a Lexus SUV was heading toward the Pasong Tamo Extension from EDSA. At the U-turn beneath the Magallanes overpass, the owner reported, a Lancer with plate number GEB 916 began to follow the driver.

The driver sped to get away from the vehicle, but the Lancer cut him off along Pasong Tamo Extension. The driver witnessed three men, aged 35 to 40, in the Lancer.

One of them stepped out and aimed a caliber .45 pistol at the driver, who did not get out of the car, but quickly maneuvered the Lexus around the Lancer, crossing the sidewalk to escape.

The car thieves in the Lancer continued to give chase, but the driver was able to enter the nearby Karrivin Plaza, which was well-lit and had security guards on the premises. The thieves fled at this point.

The owner of the Lexus later called "117" to report the attempted carjacking, but unfortunately, no one answered the phone.

Instead, she was eventually directed to dial 899-9017 — the Philippine National Police’s Anti-Carnapping Hotline number. She reported the license plate number of the Lancer and requested that more police be stationed in this high-risk area.

The Lexus owner noted that Pasong Tamo Extension has a great number of performing arts studios that attract young people — particularly young women — and she warned motorists to be careful in this area at night, since it is apparently being stalked by car thieves.

solve na yata ito... a few days ago, nabasa ko sa journal or abante, the story burried in its innermost pages:

accdg to makati police, both driver of lexus and mistubishi car, did not file charges na lang -- after results of investigation, that miscommunication ang nangyari. The mitsu car was a company car, and was easily traced, since sa makati din lang ito based.

OT: isn't it a must sa media firms, to have its own motoring people conduct lectures on what is a car, an suv, a pickup, and most of all which model belongs to a carmaker.... i.e mitsubishi trooper, isuzu pajero
