SEALANDER: Like I said it works both ways. Madaming mga iresponsible car and motorcycle drivers. Sinong mas madami? Well... does it matter? Point is to drive carefully and equip yourselves with the proper gear when riding. Its good that MC guys hear shared their concerns... in the end all of us will benefit with the additional information gathered between us forumers.
Very true. Baduy daw. Para sa kaligtasan na nila baduy pa. Aysus!Originally Posted by mazdamazda

how was this statistics taken? how would you classify an "accident"?Motorcycles are 36% of the national vehicle population and average 1 accident in eight years.
Tricycles are 20% of the national vehicle population and average 1 accident in every six years.
Trucks are 10% of the national vehicle population and average 1 accident about every 9 months.
Cars are 33% of the national vehicle population and average 1 accident every 8 months.
Buses are 1% of the national vehicle population and average 1 accident every 4 months.
if this is just basing on filed police reports then this is VERY inaccurate.
specifically for MC riders... if a rider falls of his bike (even those he only gets a few scrapes and bruises) shouldn't that be considered an accident? would a biker go the PNP TMG and already report this?
if a Tricycle scrapes the bumper of your vehicle... do you go the police station to report it? no... you just try to settle this amicably.
in contrast, a car has a minor fender bender. he files this as an "accident" to claim for insurance.

I agree with you. and it doesn't matter sino mas madami. and i wear the proper gear. wont ride a bike without it coz i feel naked. So like you said "it works both ways". So lets just all share whatever road space there is left for all of us. be it MC's or cages. kung may loko loko na rider pag pasensyahan mo na lang. On my part kung may loko=loko din na cager..i'll let him be. safe pa for all of us. oks..Originally Posted by ILuvDetailing
Hi guys,
Whew, haba ng thread. Just wanna give my 2 cents.
We enjoy our motorcycles—speed and skills—during group rides. Every ride in the province, we meet new friends. We share experiences and skills. We share happy moments. And we use our skills in the jungle everyday para makapasok sa trabaho at makauwi ng safe sa pamilya.

Those were based on statistics supplied by the PNP-TMG & LTO. If a rider falls off his bike because he had an accident involving another vehicle then he would definitely report it. If you fell off your bicycle (with a few scrapes and bruises) would you consider that an accident? would you report it??Originally Posted by mazdamazda
If a car has a minor fender bender..he files this as an accident to claim insurance??? YES...but after the offending driver has paid for the damages..double claim di ba?? of course you know this..
basta ako yung skills ko sa pag MC at Tsikot ehh magandang supplement ehh para maging DEFENSIVE raider/driver... minsan di maiiwasan na may nabwisit dahil sa di sadyang pagakakamali, kaya ako i rise my hand to please for forgiveness, mapa nasa MC or tsikot, atleast medyo nabawasan ang tension/stress/at sama ng loob in both party..
i mean is na kalimitan, even if the fault is of the rider...we drivers take all the blame.....eto ang experience ko..kaya eto ang gusto ko iparating....Originally Posted by morrissey_05

not my fault,i helped the victim, pero im charged criminally!
alwayz_yummy,
Ah now i see where you are coming from. dude, if i had it my way, liability would fall to both rider and driver. kaya lang, the law is harsh, but it is the law. dont get me wrong bro, i sympathize.
ask ko lang, how many rider were charged with reckless imprudence due to his own action against with an accident with a driver?
- i say, let the chips fall where they may. if a rider has been proven during the investigation and hearing of his recklessness, dapat prosecute. kung meron liability pero alang he gets away with it, shame on our authorities! its time to seek redress. btw, riders also have their fair share of run-ins with the law, thats an aside lang po.
again po, both parties in an accident suffer. agree? and i feel your pain bro. and i hope one day you will lose whatever feelings, ill or otherwise, you have for riders.
cheers!!
no question about how good you drive. it's just that, accidents do happen, and you're not the only one on the road. if you're braking distance is farther (when in an ineluctable circumstance - accident), you risk yourself more.
Sir Eojlin,
Sorry but I disagree. Its a matter of skill, skill and more skill. Any rider worth his salt looks way ahead very hard to anticipate any situation. i think this is taught and stressed in riding schools.
siguro if you do that behind the wheel, you double or triple that kind of anticipation when riding so as to come up with your options (escape routes) very early on. i presume its a given for riders because its a matter of life and death for them.
of course, this will not assure there will be no accidents (just like in a car) but its a risk-minimizing/risk-eliminating action that is, and correct me if im wrong here MC people, almost second nature.
so, if the braking distance is farther, any rider worth his salt will anticipate the road situation way way before to compensate for the large braking distance and execute his escape i.e. nasa diskarte na nya yun. nagkatalo na lang tayo dito siguro e sa diskarte ng mga sira-ulong nagmomotor (when they weave in and out like crazy!) hehehe
Risks? ah life's great unknown. its all the same to me, i think. i love to ride but i can very well die behind the wheel of my car. I love to drive too but i can have a motorcycle accident and pfft! Kung panahon na, panahon na.
did i make any sense guys? hehehe i'm just relating my experience on the roads behind the wheel and on the saddle of both bicycles and motorcycles, which i hope will add to the depth of the discussion.
Lahat tayo can be a victim of such considering how the system works and how individual thinks.ask ko lang, how many rider were charged with reckless imprudence due to his own action against with an accident with a driver?
BTW, kahanga hanga yung pagtulong mo sa rider.

Hehehehe, not generally true. Only some will.

Peace.
