After seeing the pictures, now I have to think twice in riding a motorcycle. Nakakatakot!

i hope the rider didn't suffer too long; based on the pics parang ung torso/legs ang nadale, not the upper body/head. can you imagine being conscious right after being mangled?

this is the reason why i'm more intimidated by bikes than trucks/buses

i don't wanna take a look uli at those pics to base my answer on, but i do hope that in this case, death was swift, kasi kawawa siya if otherwise.

Condolences to the family of the biker.

If the FX or AUV wasn't to blame in this case, then why did he run away from the scene? Witnesses should come forward or better yet the FX driver should turn himself in and try to prove his innocence.

I've only been in this country for 8 months, and I have been using my 250cc sport bike and an old honda civic on the streets of manila. I have to say that there is a lot of things wrong with the roads here. Nobody follows the rules. I have seen only a few that drive or ride responsibly. Buses and trucks here act like race cars on a track. Bikers are treated as inferior beings on the roads. When I'm on my bike and in my own lane, I always get cars trying to force me out of my lane or tailgating me. They honk their horn at me even when I'm not in the passing lane and I am following the speed limit. The worst offenders are the buses and jeeps. So I can relate to the hardships that bikers endure on the roads everyday in this country. I also see a hell of a lot of bikers who ride just as irresponsibly as most 4 wheeled users do on these roads. I guess its culture...

If only driving conditions here could be like in Singapore, Japan or Malaysia. But that may be wishful thinking.

Enough reason for me not to get a motorcycle... Wala ka kalaban-laban sa kalsada.

hi. OT pero it just caught my eye: "tanggalin ang front brake?" wow. may death wish ba ang mga MC-riders na gumagawa nyan? what's the rationale of removing the front brake?

i dont know if i agree or not... but this is what they do here in china. maybe wala na tlgang magawa un officials dito to prevent accidents due to rapid rise of vehicle ownership.

Natakot din siguro, I bet it's a traumatizing incident!!

On the other hand, and going back on topic, it may also be the motorcyclist's fault--he may not have anticipated the FX taxi tapos siya yung nakabangga, tapos siya yung nabiktima in the same process. It is a freak accident.

The bike lane is a good idea, honestly, pero I bet sisingitan lang yun ng mga sasakyan at gagamitin yung space na panggitgit.

Di ko kinaya, isang pics lang na-click ayaw ko na...

Seriously, RIP po kung sino man yun and condolences dun sa family.

I have an MC din pero within the village lang...never in the major thoroughfares....and never with my kids!

Tsk tsk ingat na lang po sa atin!

    Four-wheels are safer than two....IMO!

With the increasing number of motorcycle owners in our country, you don't need to see the statistics to know if accidents involving these two-wheeled vehicles are on the rise or not.
The bike lane would really help and Marikina has a lot of streets that have these. What about the other cities? Another is the dicipline of the drivers (all two or more wheeles) that would play a pivotal role in reducing accidents.
These are just two of the many possible solutions to this problem and the authorities should do something about it NOW!
