Di' namatay yung biktima. Wala kasing decent sidewalk yung ibang kalye, kaya pilit lumakad sa gitna. At talagang tahimik mga residential na daan, walang witnesses, except for the security cam.
Cops nab suspect in drive-by snatching in QC
Police finally caught one of the suspects in the drive-by snatching modus operandi in Quezon City.
The Quezon City Police District-Station 9 identified the suspect as Francis Ortoqueza who was arrested in Barangay Butucan early dawn Monday.
“We have initiated a stake-out operation. Sinundan namin ang trail ng grupo niya,” said Superintendent Oscar Palisoc, QCPD-Station 9 chief.
Ortoqueza, police said, is a member of the Commando Gang, a notorious group of snatchers operating in Quezon City.
The group use carjacked taxi cabs to carry out their criminal activity, police added. Sometimes, the suspect goes alone or with two other cohorts.
Ortoqueza denied the allegations against him.
Last March 14, a girl identified only as “Des” became the latest victim of drive-by snatching.
The victim was on her way home from school when she passed by a white Toyota Corolla without license plates near the corner of Lantana and Betty Go Belmonte Streets in New Manila, Quezon City.
After the victim passed by the car, the vehicle started tailing her. As the car passed by the victim, its driver grabbed her bag.
The victim was unable to let go of her bag immediately, forcing her to be dragged five meters by the car.
The victim suffered wounds in different parts of her body. She was immediately brought to the St. Luke’s Medical Center for treatment.
The incident followed a similar case on February 29 when “Kristine” was also dragged by a white car while on her way home along Macopa Street in Barangay Sto. Domingo.
One of Kristine's neighbors recorded the incident on his surveillance camera.
Superintendent Antonio Yarra, chief of the General Assignments Section of the Quezon City Police District, said most suspects target subdivisions because they are traffic-free, thereby allowing them easy getaway.
It was learned that the modus operandi has already victimized six people since February.

matindi maaring sapitin ng biktima.... nawalan na, na-injured and na-hospitalized that can cost thousand to hundreds of thousand. in the end kawawa talaga... ingat na lang sa mga kaibigan nating mga babae na commuter.
