the thing is if brand new cars continue to become more and more expensive. imagine a corolla nowadays at 1M

then the 2nd hand car business, will be lucrative as there will be more windows of cash to play and that's why things like this will happen. sa nature ng crime na ito, hindi malabo na meron na mga feud sa 2nd hand car dealership biz.

let's take for example, the rising prices in fast food. think tanks are exploiting the bubble in fastfood prices. titignan nila kung hanggang saan bibili ang tao ng 2pc. chicken meal, 140 ok, 150 ok, 160 ok. pag nag 200 kaya, ok pa din?

they may have monopoly now but as a side effect, they're opening a window of opportunity for lesser know food businesses and that's why now, ang dami mas masasarap na pagkain na mabibili sa internet na hindi na processed and luto with love pa
    and mura pa.

yan ang epekto ng walang humpay na greediness ng mga car dealers dito sa'tin sa overpricing ng brand new cars. the 2nd hand market is booming even to the point na magpatayan na

Palace on suspect's bail: Why 19 times?
By Aurea Calica (The Philippine Star) Updated January 23, 2011 12:00 AM Comments (171)

MANILA, Philippines – Malacañang expressed alarm yesterday over how Raymond Dominguez, now the subject of a massive manhunt in connection with the murder of car dealer Venson Evangelista, was allowed to post bail 19 times for numerous cases of car theft filed against him.
This developed as Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Director General Raul Bacalzo ordered the filing of murder raps yesterday against Dominguez and his brother Roger following the admission by arrested suspects Alfred Mendiola, alias Bading, and Batibot Parulan that they killed Evangelista on orders of Dominguez.

AFAIK, it is not the PNP which sets bail for an accused person in detention. The prosecutor who filed the information is the one who recommends bail. That would mean that this is entirely up to the prosecutorial arm of the DOJ to tell the court that bail should be set higher or be denied altogether considering that the persons involved are already charged with 19 other cases of carjacking and other crimes.

'Suspect in Evangelista slay can walk free anytime'

MANILA, Philippines - The suspected leader of a notorious carjacking syndicate can walk free from police custody anytime because there is no standing warrant for his arrest, a police official said Monday.

Central Luzon police director Chief Superintendent Allan Purisima admitted they cannot hold suspect Raymond Dominguez since he was the one who sought protective custody after being linked to the murders of Emerson Lozano, son of lawyer Oliver Lozano, and car dealer Venson Evangelista.

"He is in voluntary custody. We have no reason to hold him because there is no warrant of arrest. He wanted protection because he fears for his life," Purisima told ABS-CBN News.

Purisima said public prosecutors should first conduct a preliminary investigation and then file charges before a court of law. He said the court will evaluate if there is a case and then issue an arrest warrant.

Dominguez, 29, and his brother, Roger, were earlier identified by the Philippine National Police Highway Patrol Group as the leaders of 1 of 3 major carjacking syndicates operating in Central Luzon.

Raymond, who is facing separate 19 counts of car theft and robbery, voluntarily turned himself over to the Bulacan Provincial Police last Saturday.

Raymond has denied any links to the Lozano and Evangelista slays, saying that he and his brother are now being used as fall guys.

He also denied knowing Alfred Mendiola (a.k.a. Allan Torres) and Ferdinand "Batibot" Parulan, the 2 suspects who were linked to the Evangelista killing. The 2 suspects said it was the Dominguez brothers who masterminded the killing of Evangelista and Lozano.

It does seem odd that they were able to post bail 19 times. The sad reality in this country is that almost everyone in position, fiscals, judges, justices, can be paid off to look the other way.
