"Bukas Kotse Gang" Members Strike Anew at Ortigas Center
12/01/2006
Three car owners fell victims to the dreaded “Bukas Kotse Gang” members who struck anew along the Ortigas Center in Pasig City the other night.
Philip Anthony Padua of 2 Pres. Magsaysay St., Lifehomes, Rosario, Pasig City, was first victimized at 11:40 p.m. the other day while his Toyota Revo (TWX-620) was parked at Ortigas Center.
He said he left his car at a parking lot of the Ortigas Building, Ortigas Center. When he returned to his car, he discovered the right window glass of his car was smashed and his two laptop computers worth more than P80,000 were missing.
Several minutes later, Gilbert Magno, of 5 Villa Grande Drive, Meteor Homes, Marikina City, was also victimized by the robbers while his Honda Jazz (ZAA-806) was parked at the pay parking lot of Green Acres located on Garnet Road, Ortigas Center.
The victim also discovered the right window glass of his car was broken. Police are still determining the other stolen items from his car.
Also on that night, another victim identified as Jay Carlo de la Cruz, of 56 Southmaya, Philam Homes, Quezon City, also sought police assistance after he was victimized by the syndicate.
He said his car, a Mitsubishi Lancer (CNS-816), was parked at the pay parking area of Park Plus Parking Management Branch also at Ortigas Center when he discovered the left window of his car was also shattered into pieces. Police are also still verifying the other items stolen by the robbers.
Chief Insp. Rolly Vilar, head of the Eastern Police District-Criminal Investigation Unit, said the three incidents could be the handiwork of one and the same group.
“Parehas kasi yung modus operandi, binabasag nila ‘yung salamin,” Vilar said, adding the target of the syndicate could be the laptop left by the owner of the car. Jojo Arazas

Huwag kasing mag-iiwan ng valuable items na visible sa loob ng kotse. Dalhin na lang yung laptops or ilagay na lang sa trunk. At saka, di ba pag pay parking lot, may guwardiya ito?
Or, kakutsaba rin pati guwardiya?

Take extra precautions. Don't leave valuable things in the car - visible or not.

The worst part is you have to pay for the parking fee just to get your car robbed. Maybe we can change this Christmas season to Crime season.

Again, why publish the addresses of the victims, and their complete names? That all the more makes them vulnerable.
