nagpa full tank ako last Sat ng Vortex Silver sa Caltex Julia Vargas....pagkatapos magbayad umalis na kami papuntang megamall...medyo traffic kaya bahagya lang usad ng sasakyan...napansin ko everytime aarangkada yung sasakyan ko eh parang pumapalya...parang naririnig mo yung tunog ng manual na typewriter...tunog na makinang wala sa tono...inisip ko baka nanibago lang dahil nga 93 RON and ikinarga ko na hindi ko naman nae experience kahit na RON 93 or 95 and ikarga ko...paparada na kami sa tabi ng teriyaki boy pero talagang pumapalya yung kotse habang paatras ako...binuksan ko yung takip ng gas tank...dipped my index finger sa fuel (sagad kasi hanggang labi ako magpakarga ng gas...dont imitate this) and rub it against my two tingers...aba!! medyo madulas yata than the usual gasoline...alam ko po kasi 4 na taon akong humahawak ng diesel at gasolina...bumalik na ako agad sa Caltex Julia Vargas...

i talked to the manager, showed her the repceipt and explained what happened...i even told her to let her merchanic ride with me and observe the condition of the engine but the mechanic insisted that we drain the gas tank and prevent further damage if ever there was any misloading of diesel (for sure hindi na misload ng diesel ito dahil kitang kita ko na nozzle ng Vortex Silver and isinalpak sa oto ko bago pisilin ng gas attandant)...itinaas na sa lifter ang oto ko, binuksan ang drain plug ng gas tank at pinatulo ang laman nito sa isang lalagyan...kumuha ng isang bote ang mechanic at sumahod ng konti...di kasing bluish green tulad ng kadalasang nakikita ko nung may hawak pa kaming gas station...this time Vortex Gold na ang ikinarga sa akin...

ngayon 43 km na itinatakbo ko sa ipinalit nilang fuel, meron pa rin akong naririnig na di tama sa takbo ng makina... this is a well-maintained car...i always follow the 5000 km pms kahit na Havoline Energy Synthetic gamit ko, replace spark plugs every 10k...changed all the fluids twice last year...i regularly clean the air filter...fuel lang namn talaga ang nabago bago mangyari ito...im planning to drain this fuel again and replace it with another fuel from another gas station.. kapag umayos ang takbo nitong makina it only means one thing...di puro ang gasolinang naikarga ko mula Caltex Julia Vargas...

mas madaming fuel additives (cleaners etc) yung gold... may vortex platinum pa nga sa ibang countries eh... alam ko yung Dept of Energy, may dye test na ginagawa kung may halong water or kerosene yung gasoline..sana regular nila itong ginagawa sa mga gas stations

pissword, di ko naman na experience nung sa dating caltex namin kaya nga i developed a brand loyalty for caltex products...ang hirap nyan eh di pare pareho ang nagpapatakbo ng mga gas stations...

nagtasatanas, yes...kapag nagpalit ulit ako ng bagong fuel...I'll have everything checked pati engine iginition timing...my best bet is fuel talaga ang diperensya...similar ito sa na experience ko sa Total gas station sa Kamagong...nung nagpalit ako ng fuel nawala na...simula noon di na rin ako nagpapakarga sa branch ng Total gas station na iyon...

lahat ng gas dito sa atin unleaded...difference nila is RON93 and Vortex Silver at RON95 ang Gold...Caltex claims that Vortex Gold has more cleaning additives that Silver...

mas recommended ang gasoline with higher octane rating for older vehicles...

when can u say na "older vehicle" na yung ride mo?

    100+k na ang mileage?
    10 or more years na?

hmm... ten years or 160k km, AFAIK... LOL...

older, carburated vehicles, and vehicles that are not running at 100% power anymore both benefit from higher octane... in addition, some older carburated vehicles (70s and older) may need lead additives every now and then to keep them in condition.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

I had a similar experience at Shell San Francisco Street (aka open canal) at Mandaluyong City.

I have been their regular customer for around 4 years now until the incident happened. May halong tubig ang velocity nila.

I had to have the whole gas tank drained. Worse, the station manager refused to acknowledge or at least refund my gasoline payment.

    Ingat kayo dyan.

for the most part, older (pre-1992) engines use leaded gas since the valves and valve seats are lubricated by the lead in the gasoline. using unleaded gas on these engines will result in premature valve failure due to lack of lubrication. lead is used both as octane enhancer and valve lubricant. NEW engines have a built-in lubricant on the valves and valve seats (that is why there is no more need to grind new valves on newer, post-1992 engines). the valves mostly are coated with an aluminum alloy and therefore do not need the lead in "leaded gas" as lubricant.

for engines equipped with catalytic converters, NEVER use leaded gasoline. using leaded gas on engines equipped with cats will result in failure of the catalytic converter. the cat can even sometimes explode if used with leaded gas (lead cloggs up the cat and creates excessive back pressure leading to bursting of the exhaust pipes and cat).

sir yebo if thats the case... anu difference ngayon ng SHELL SUPER PREMIUM and SHELL Unleaded? they are both 93 RON... why mas expensive ang super premium

and ang petron XCS and Petron UNLEADED din i think is the same... hehe anu difference sa additives nila?

all the while i thought mga leaded gasoline pa ang XCS and super premium to cater to those older vehicles hehe kahit na alam kong pinagbabawal na peace..

    sir chieffy sorry sa OT
