Makati has one of the highest carnapping rates in metro manila, highest pa rin QC. Ako dahil nagwowork sa callcenter nasanay na sa parking sa makati, I already more or less know the places to park at, yun lang nga I check up on my car usually pag lunch or break time.

I remember last year, ofcmate ko nanakawan rin, binasag window ng van nya, nakuha rubber shoes!

As for me kahit luma na car ko, i've chosen to renew my comprehensive insurance this year again, for peace of mind rin.

advise ko buy the unbreakable autolock x. you can install it sa clutch or brake pedals. kahit nakapasok na ang crooks sa car nyo, hindi naman nila pwede mapa-andar kasi naka-lock ang clutch or brake pedals nyo.nakita ko demo sa tv, crooks can just cut the steering wheel using a saw in seconds then remove the steering wheel lock.also, kahit may alarm tayo, deadma naman sa mga tao kahit naririnig nila. i ordered one already. medyo mahal pero ok na. special steel ang ginamit kaya hindi mapuputol ng lagareng bakal. hirap pa position ng carnappers kasi nasa baba ang lock. check out this item at www.autolock.com

go to CARRYBOY Banawe doon ako nagpakabit ng 3-LOCK oks na oks mga bro di halata na mayroon kang lock pero may steering lock pa rin ako dahil, pa-effect sa carnaper, magastos pero kailangan pa rin. saan ka man magparada, dehin kasi pwede lagariin yung Carryboy 3-LOCK, kahit may alarma pa tsikot ko, pwede parin ma cut ang wiring ng horn.

what do u think of the immobilizer of the new honda? They said kahit i-hot wire / duplicate yung kotse, mag start lang yung engine then after 2 secs mamamatay na ulit. Kasi daw yung keys nila ngayon meron daw serial code na iniiscan dun sa key hole(may microchip siguro sa loob). So kahit anong gawin daw nila, basta wala sa kanila yung orig keys..di daw macacarnap yung oto.

About insurance, sobrang tagal ng pag claim and super depreciated yung value ng oto mo pag nacarnap.

Any car can be stolen if the thief is determined. Yes, there are ways to bypass the immobilizer. I will not go into detail but it is very doable if the thief wanted your vehicle.

Or they can just steal it while you are drivng it.

That's why it is a good idea to 'layer' security devices. Steering wheel locks are good deterrents (especially if there are tons of other cars around not so equipped). Etched windows also discourage chop shops and plate swapping. The Carryboy 3 lock is good but it's hard to see as the theif casually observes your vehicle.

Unconventional methods like pulling fuses actually work. They work great on cars with fuses that can be accessed while seated on the driver's seat (e.g. Sentra, LR Discovery, etc.).

pag nasa free parking ako, i see to it na naka park ako sa malapit lang at natatanaw ko oto ko.

pero at times, bayad na lang parking kahit mamulubi na...

hirap magtipid ng konti tapos mawalan ng malaki...

tapos di ko rin kinakalimutan ang steering lock ki...hirap na. makursunadahan man tsikot ko...ma turn off man lang sana yung thief pag nakita na may steering wheel lock ang oto ko!

and speaking of insurance, i know of a good insurance company that can issue a comprehensive insurance na installments ang payment...

go to your local iron work shop. mag pa fabricate kyo ng lock to install on the pedals. use abloy padlocks.

hehe hindi naman welding sa pedals.. mag pa frabricate ng lock that will wrap around all pedals, parang shackles. para pag tinapakan 1 pedal, all pedals will follow. how can you drive with all pedals depressed at the same time diba?

Yes, immobilizers can be beaten. As I've said in my previous post, let us not go into detail about this as it may give some shady elements more ideas on how this is done. But the fact remains that it is possible and has been done.

Of course, less sophisticated elements will prolly just steal the vehicle while you (and the key) are in it.

correct sir. may time na ayaw mag turn ng key when i insert it. you have to slightly wiggle the steering wheel until ma turn mo ung ignition key.
