accident at the katipunan underpass

anyone here saw the accident yesterday very early morning at the transition area ng underpass going into the flyover area sa katipunan to libis? saw a corolla which went perpendicular to the road and sinampa na niya yung lane divider. ano details dun? there were 2 other cars, i guess friend ng may dala ng corolla, they were parked nearby sa inner lane ng flyover area na...

passed by the area mga 2:30am.

there was an accident before with two cars at the uturn slot right beside jolibee...sad, mukhang nangangarera ang mga yun...I also had a friend who went through an accident by the lightpost at the flyover...wala pa atang mga islands nun. total wreck ang kotse and the bad part is...patay ang passenger...

medyo accident prone ung bagong underpass-flyover na daan from katips to libis kasi may tendency na mabilis pagtake mo dun sa paliko ng underpass tapos two-lanes lang sya. sa taas din since medyo maganda nga ung road (bago pa kasi) may tendency na mabilis ung pagandar mo dun.

wierd thing is, maliwanag naman dun sa underpass portion ng pababa to libis from katips, it's just that too sharp yung curve, almost 90degrees siya instead of a gradual one...

sarap nga itake yung corner ng mabilis if FR ka and hindi mabigat foot mo sa gas...pero after what i saw happened, wag na lang. mahirap na...

I drove there the other day, I found the roads nice and the turn adequate, but of course if you drive above the speed limit(in other words very fast) there is of course a higher risk of accident.

If people drove more carefully this would not happen.

Walang reflectors, no convex mirror, and minsan may mga harang pa sa isang lane right after a blind spot. Cars come in fast because it's straight coming in so there is a tendency to misjudge your entry speed.

sooobrang sharp ng curve...running ako ng 60kph nung first time ko dumaan dun natakot ako at nagulat sa sobrang sharp nung curv.

imagine 60kph takbo ko, maliwanag sa labas tas pagpasok sa loob biglang didilim. syempre mag aadjust ng kaonte ung mata mo sa ilaw.
tas hindi mo pa mapapansin agad ung sharp curve. pag sumalpok, paktay na.

Ilang beses na rin akong dumadaan diyan. Maybe it helps na diesel lang yung dala ko, because I don't tend to go fast whenever I approach that area.

No amount of lights, mirrors or reflectors can replace common sense and caution, IMO. Kahit sandamakmak ang warning signs dyan, kung pasaway talaga ang driver, may aksidente pa rin. It's not the road that is the danger per se. More often than not, it's the person behind the wheel who presents the greatest threat to himself, kasi yung sasakyan ang umaandar, hindi yung kalsada.

Adding reflectors (cateyes on the road and direction ,markers on the wall), warning signs, and a convex mirror to that will help a lot IMO.

madilim ito pag may araw pa kasi hindi nakabukas ang ilaw. Try niyo dumaan dun sa kabila from white plains turn right parang may course dun na pa zigzag hehe lagi ko gusto daanan feeling ko nag nfs underground ako.
Montik na ako may nadaling motor dyan ang bagal kasi at walang ilaw sa ialalim ng tunnel, Maliwanag pa naman sa labas kasi maaraw, hindi nasanay yun mata ko sa dilim, ayun biglang brakes ako at binusinahan ko yun nakabig bike kasi ang bagal niya magpatakbo
