BTW your cousin does not HAVE TO pay the entire amount being collected which includes excessive interest and "lawyer's" fees. These things can be negotiated. At this point, malamang written off as bad debt na yun kaya any amount recovered is better than nothing, kahit principal lang.

actually, citibank operators mababait naman sila at magalang... but by the time they transfer the collection to their 3rd party collection agency, ayan na yung kabastusan...

if my memory serves me right, i think aguila or aguilar collection agency ata yung notorious sa ganyang mga calls.

Huh?? In what context? Does Citibank have substantial shareholdings in Aguilar & Aguilar to be deemed as a part of the bank?

AFAIK, said firm is merely an accredited collection agency, allowed by Citibank to hold office in their building. It is NOT a part of Citibank, otherwise they would have introduced themselves as such.

SOP naman sa mga collection agencies/bank call centers na ipakilala nila sarili nila as part of the bank, kahit accredited lang sila. I'm in the same biz also.
