September 3rd, 2005 05:46 AM #11Well, wala kang kasalanan sa nangyari sa kanya, he was probably too fast for his own good... If it were me I probably wouldnt have given him anything... he seemed to be fine anyway.
On the other hand i am very pissed off with drivers who make a u turn from the 2nd lane... I assume you are not exactly driving a long vehicle or truck right? kahit pawis or power steering pa yan turn mo naman fully while making the turn, kaya yan...

September 3rd, 2005 07:37 AM #12Allowed naman ng mga pulis yung 2nd lane U-turn sa maluluwag na areas like EDSA. If they don't allow it, sobra haba ng pila sa inner lane especially if mahina yung nasa harapan.
As for giving money, the generosity and humility even if you know you're on the right side of the situation is more than enough. At least, looking back now- hindi ka nagkulang.

Although hindi ko masabi kung directly may kasalanan ka sa aksidente, pero sa tingin you have contributed kaya nangyari ang aksidente - by u-turning at the wrong lane and not signalling your intention.

i am unsure as to how much you contributed to the accident, but, you should not have made a u-turn from the second lane unless there was a long traffic que that prevented you from reaching the left most lane.
when did you turn your signal lights on? the purpose of signal lights is to warn and give ample time for motorists behind you to avoid/react accordingly BEFORE you stop/slow down to take the turn.
however, my personal observation for most, not all, but most, bikers and other motorists alike, is when they see you veering or signaling to the side, they tend to gun their engines to cut you off.

were they right that you were'nt using your signal lights??? and ur making a U-turn at the midde of the lane?? If so.... BAD yun! :D ehhehe
problem is, if it was raining earlier and the roads are wet, very slippery yun sa mga MC.. now maybe they were'nt expecting you to make a U kasi you were'nt signalling then you made a move (kahit di itinuloy) its enough to confuse the MC... ca'nt slam the brakes ng ganun ganun lang (unlike cars).
Now, most probably kahit umabot pa yan sa pulis wala kang kasalanan kasi you did'nt hit them and they did'nt hit you. (swerte mo) its more to be blamed as rider's error.
do'nt worry much about it, i believe tapos na yang issue.... just be more careful next time and avoid making alanganing U-turns..

September 3rd, 2005 10:54 AM #16You may have been at fault by doing your turn from the 2nd lane, even if you signalled your intention. However, in my observation, a vast majority of bikers blatantly ignore traffic rules such that it's often hard too second-guess them. Just try to strictly follow traffic procedures the next time, so that the fault would be all theirs.

It just gave him the impression na madali kang maloko at matakot. If you really like to give him money throw it at his face para mainsulto. At wag papel, mamiso ang ibato mo. IMO lang IMO lang.

thanks sa reply :D
nagmaguuturn na ko tiningnan ko na walang kotse sa likod ko (kasi red light pa sa intersection by that time) as in maluwag pa except for the 2 motorcycles approaching me. nagtataka lang ako na bakit biglang huminto ng malakas yung unang motor? malayo pa naman ako sa kanya.
ganito ako naguturn... from honda nagright na kaagad ako kasi red light yung kabilang intersection kaya walang kotse. nasa left lane ako tapos nakasignal light na paleft. pumunta ako ng 2nd lane para malaki kabig ko pagdating sa kabilang road. ginawa ko yun kasi risky yung kabilang road.. may bridge doon na pababa and blind spot yun. kapag mabilis sila tapos pagbaba makakakita ng may maguuturn baka tumama siya.
and no HINDI KO BINIGYAN NG PERA YUNG MOTOR. sabi nya kasi pera na lang daw pangfirst aid. so sabi ko ayan 100. tapos sabi wsssshhh! nasira motor ko sabi nya. tapos sabi nung nakamotor o sige 200 na lang. nung ibibigay ko na biglang tumangi. ang labo nun man...

ang bait mo pa nga...kung saken yun nde ko bibigyan ng pera...at nde ko na den papansinin...siguro bubuksan ko bintana ko tas tatanungin ko kung ok lang sya...kung sakaling nde offer akong dalhin sya sa hospital, tas kung sakaling sisihin nya ako. sasabihan ko sha "ang layo ko sayo ha!" sabay sara ng bintana. anyway, as in second lane ka nag u turn? well, kung nde naman nakakaabala why not diba? like what u said kayo kayo lang nung 2 motor sa daan. Wala ka kasalanan sa nangyari. in the first place naka hinto ka na pala...eh bat pa nga naman sha huminto. sinamantala lang nya siguro ung sitwasyon makahuthut lang ng pera. sana nga binantaan mo pa sha eh... kung baket wala shang helmet.
