Your First Car... A Memoir

Do you still remember your first car? The very first car that I ever owned was a white two- door 1978 Colt Lancer! During that time, mabilis ka na pag yun and dala mo kasi Saturn yung makina. I got it from my dad as a graduation gift. I had many adventures with that car. Lots of memories.

Mine is a '95 Honda Civic EG hatchback. Got it as a high school graduation gift. I remember how heavy the steering was (not power steering) but partly it was my fault, palit kasi ako ng 15 inch na mags. This car was also the sloooowwwwest car I ever owned, thankfully I used it for only 2 years after that I upgraded to the Civic VTI.

First vehicle ko noon ay isang bulok na owner na nakatambak ng ilang taon sa bahay ng erpats ko. Toyota 2T ang engine at yung gulong niya ay pwedeng pang-Jeepney.

Mine was a 1981 Toyota Corolla Liftback. My partner in crime during my college days. Sobrang dami naming secrets and adventures ng car ko. Mas mahal ko pa nga yata siya kesa sa gf ko noon eh. Saan na kaya siya ngayon, nakakamiss.

it was a used, light blue, early '80's, 4-cylinder mustang. it gave me nothing but trouble...the last time na tinirik ako sa highway, iniwan ko na lang dun.

Mine was an '89 Lancer EL with no power steering (pawis steering ika nga) and intermittent AC, plus no tint and lots of problems that crept up after one another. Needless to say it will remain in my memory as just that because we sold it in 2004 to a guy who drove it to Bataan where it supposedly stays now.

I don't recall if it was a graduation gift, when I started driving in around 1999 I started using that car too when my then girlfriend (my wife now) also started driving her '93 Sentra, also her first car. I remember everything about my old Lancer EL except the engine and how it looked like (1.3L lang siya).

Are we allowed to post pics of it as some sort of tribute?

First car that I bought for 15T was a 1972 Opel Manta back in 1986. Sold it after two months for 16T. Was going to make it a project car but parts were hard to find.

First brand new car was a Nissan Sentra LEC PS back in 1996. Very nice and reliable car. Sold it a couple of years ago. Selling it was like parting with a family member. It made my wife cry.

my first car i bought for 7thou,we had to push it at home(about 200m lang naman)then i worked on it 2 days and 2 nights,opel manta 1979.kahit 2thou siguro d mo papatulan.galit pa nga tatay ko e.its underoing repair now kc i fell inluv with it.A God given gift.inoverhaul ko lang once.5 years d ako tinirik(flat tire lang)Im planning to buy aTIGRA for my wife.Ill post pics pag tapos na pet project ko.

Ang first car ko ay 1992 Toyota Corolla XL. Ako ang bumili. Ayaw kasi ako ibili ng magulang ko. Pero na-realize ko na kapag pinaghirapan mo ay mamahalin mo at iingatan mo.

my 1st car was a 1984 ford laser. we bought it for 50k. bulok na body nya but it has a very good engine. i can make it run at 180kph for about 20 minutes dun sa my parteng albay, bicol. after which i went down to 70 kph kasi baka magkalasan yung gulong nya. bulok na kasi body nya. hehehehe....sadly,though, we sold it at a junk shop 4 6k. hehe. right now i am planning to buy a mitsubishi strada. i heard good things kasi about this pick up here.

my first car was a 1995 mitsubishi lancer glxi. got it second hand in 2004. i loved that car and had it for 5 years. had to sell it last year when i got a new ride. wala kasi space sa garahe. i almost cried when the buyer drove it away.

My first car was a First gen mitsubishi eclipse 1989 all stock, custom paint and a nice audio set-up had to let it go to make way for my 2nd car mustang 2000

First car was a used but mint Toyota Corolla. It was given to me in high school and I learnt how to drive on it. I learned that a u-turn while driving at 40kph is a stupid thing to do.

Upon graduating, I received my first brand new car, a Mitsubishi Lancer. This was the car where I experienced a lot of stupid drunk accidents. I had a lot of fun in it.

First car I bought with my own money was a Toyota Altezza with the beams engine. I miss that car since it was really fun to drive. Oddly enough, I don't really miss the other two.

mine's a number of firsts:
first car i learned how to drive in was a mitsubishi mirage - plagued with engine problems; fortunately, naiuuwi ko pa rin pag nasisira.
first new car i drove was a bnew type Z city gl - company car assigned to me when i was a med rep.
first ride i bought on loan c/o my bro was a suzuki muticab dropside pickup - sold it recently and missing it everyday. never ashamed of bringing it on dates (naka aircon and mags naman) and to work; kumikita rin sya pag pina-aarkilahan ko for gas and booze.
first bnew ride that i now own - suzuki alto k10.

The family car was eventually handed down to me back then...a 1994 Toyota Corolla GLi. Drove it until I left the Philippines,
then got my own 'first' car..a brand new Toyota Corolla LE (AT) that I kept for about 3 years. I do miss driving my old Corolla, I hope she's okay. .
