Just look at LAME local car writers and car testers. BUTCH GAMBOA or Aida Sevilla car columnist who praise all cars they review. They always stay unbiased. That is also why they Suck big time.

Yeah, Jeremy Clarkson is one hell of a critic, but the good thing about him is that he comes to hate cars because they're hardly any good, not the brand whatsoever. Likewise, he admires some vehicles he tests because they made him happy.

I remember that in one Top Gear Episode, they tackled the Honda Element. For some reason, most Honda drivers in the UK are old, which is a double standard accounting to the loss of the brand's 'coolness.' This particular model was brought to a home for the aged, and practically none of the old people liked it. Clarkson rejoiced finding out that the Element is 'cool.'

Coolness there is very much subjective, based heavily on statistics. Of course, most of us here won't say the same about Honda, so everything about liking or hating cars boils down to personal opinion. There is no right or wrong here, but what's a total mistake is shunning away a particular brand without scrutinizing it whatsoever.

I wouldn't go so far as to call them freaks or bigots. Envy is a fundamental human response to certain situations. Just let them be if they refuse to be educated.

Bigotry is actually defined as: willful ignorance or prejudice or intolerance of any opinion/creed/group differing from his/her own. It's a correct definition of most "haters", as they "hate" regardless of actual merit. It's a little harsh, but technically correct.

Ever wonder why there aren't a zillion people clamoring for "South Park" to be banned in the US, despite seemingly racist humor? It's because they ridicule all creeds and colors equally.

more fun stuff i hear from a couple of ford and honda fanboys:

"why should i buy a bmw/audi? i can put $10k into my honda, and have a better car for less money!!"

um, a faster-accelerating car maybe. but what's the point of that statement? everybody has different criteria on what 'better' means...

"i will never buy a japanese or german car after what they did to us in world war 2"

dude, it's 2005. get over yourself already. also, i suppose this means you have to throw away your Sony big-screen tv and your Siemens cell phone. bigay mo na lang sa akin

Hehehe!! this is the funniest line I ever heard about cars. Do you remember how CRUEL the KOREANS were to the Filipinos during the WAR??

Kung walang Japan, German, Korean. since masama sila nung WW2

E di American, British, French, Italian and Filipino cars nalang ang natira?

slightly OT, but let me comment on this term 'hater'. it is probably the most misused term i've ever heard...these 'car bigots' as some of you guys call them also like to call everybody who has a different opinion than them a 'hater'.

we don't hate, idiot, we just have a different opinion than you.

my favorite are the posts on car message boards titled "just installed my single-wiper/altezza taillight/3-foot wing mod today...please give me your opinions!!".....and then if someone says it looks ugly, the thread starter calls him a hater :bwahaha:

why did you ask for an opinion, then?

Good old Jeremy Clarkson... no matter how good the car is, he will still find something nasty to say about it.

Contrariwise, when he praises a bad car, he doesn't gloss over its faults... from an 80's book by Jeremy Clarkson: "On a good day, this car (Lancia Monte Carlo) can make you feel like a million dollars. Sad to say, I never had a day like that." -or something of the sort, where Jeremy lists his Lancia Monte Carlo as one of his 100 favorite cars, but admits it's a piece of junk.

In regards to "I hate their products because of what they did to us"...

Wala naman Swiss cars... and they didn't fight against the Nazis... I don't like that.
We should ignore American cars, too... remember the short and totally one-sided Filipino-American War? And American Indians would have to shun American cars, Americans would have to shun British cars, French and Brits would have to stay the hell away from each other (remember the Waterloo!). All Europeans would stay away from Italian cars (damn Roman Imperialists)... it's just laughable.

...and I can't believe how a certain car magazine came up with a verdict that a Jaguar X-Type is more fun to drive than a BMW 3-Series.

hahaha... guess it's all relative... but since the X-Type is based on the Mondeo, which was a good driving car also, it's not bad... but definitely not as good as a 3.

Maybe only in 3 inch snow roads .... and the old geezer probably mistaken the X-type for an XJ!. You can't quite tell from the inside.

why do some car enthusiasts hate other car brands?
