SCTEX does manual tagging northbound at Luisita.

TPLEX southbound I've also seen people flagged at the toll booth before entering SCTEX. But never northbound.

There is a speed camera a few kilometers before the San Fernando exit (northbound), the same one as in Mexico.

They do not apprehend also speeding southbound vehicles past the Bocaue toll gate. I drive faster after I exit the Bocaue toll gate than when I am driving from the viaduct to the Bocaue toll gate.

When we went to Pampanga on January 1, the speed camera in Mexico flashed as I was travelling northbound in NLEX. I was only doing around 110 kmh on the right lane (outer). I exited Angeles and there was no apprehension.

Does NLEX/SCTEX implement no-contact apprehension already?

It's a working deterrent in NLEX. I found out on my last trip to Pampanga that vehicles passing that area are slowing down when approaching the speed camera in Mexico.

As mentioned above, I had to pass the car doing 90kmh in the inner lane when the camera flashed. It caught me by surprise. Sana nakapag smile man lang ako. hehehe

New Updates after 2 years hehehe

My top speed here in the Philippines is 165 kph using my Corolla Big Body Gli M/T along TPLEX.

Maybe you need better tires and a stiffer suspension. Depende talaga yan sa kotse at lakas ng loob ng driver.

Perhaps tires in need of balancing?

It is quite admirable that a car this old is still capable of hitting such speeds without much drama.

Nowadays I don't get to have fun anymore. 120 is all I can do without risking a ticket and loads of hassle.

Perhaps a midnight run on the old Maharlika route someday...

yakang yaka mag-220 sir hehehe kaso nakakatakot lang magka-ticket sa US. Don't want to risk it hehe kahit nag-ooverspeed na ako nun hahaha.

How do you ensure na hindi ka mahuhuli?

Slowing down sa bridges prolly or look for someone running the same speed or faster than you.

I barely go beyond the limits in SCTEX around 100-120 sometimes 130-140, those who passess me in SCTEX gets flagged down at the toll.

I did a spirited run with my FXT before on the Subic-bound part of SCTEX. From the NLEX-SLEX cloverleaf to Floridablanca, it took me about 15 minutes. It was 8am when I entered SCTEX and by 830am, I was already playing golf at Basa Airbase.

I was doing over 200 kmh in the long stretch of SCTEX from Porac to Floridablanca. The noise from the wind outside could be heard loudly inside the cabin.

I never tried going over 200 kmh again but I did try 200 kmh at TPLEX. That time, I was cruising on the left lane at 150 kmh when an Everest 3.2L tried to pass me on the right. I gave him a bit of a challenge but he lost steam or nerves past 180 kmh.

Most modern cars tend to have its steering stiffen when going faster. A small miscalculation on the steering when you’re going more than 100 kmh can be dangerous.

i think most mid size ppv based suvs max out at around 180-190kmh. personally though i am uncomfortable at that speed already with such a big and heavy rig also i assume engine noise is already loud by then.
