Yes it uses a timing chain. I may be wrong but I belive all newer model Nissans use t-chains.
With a chain, you dont have to worry about changing it. Its supposed to last the life of the car.
mali ka, wala pa ko nakikitang local revo na timing chain--7k is still timing belt, 1kz, 1zz, 1kd, etc.. all passenger models ng toyota uses timing belt. nissan offers timing chain talaga, from ga16, qd32, td27, sr20, etc....
and i dont believe na makina ng avanza ay timing chain.. its practicallty the same as what the vios/echo has.....and most top-end models nga ng toyota timing belt parin...even diesl engines...

basta sa akin kahit ano pa yan chain, belt or gear basta nasa timing sya ok yan.
yup, this should not be a big issue..
pero siyempre lesser maintenance ang chain, especially the gear then the belt...
most new toyotas naman has an T-belt indicator on the dash..
Napa research ako sa thread na to.
I'm 100% sure that the Avanza uses a timing chain. I asked a Toyota sales rep about it before purchasing my unit. It was also confirmed by another Avanza owner in the Toyota Avanza thread. And to validate, I just checked my owners manual. No mention of checking, inspecting or replacing a timing belt in the maintenance section.
pareho lahos ng engine ang avanza sa vios, konti lang difference.. hmm matignan nga brochure kung meron..
2L, 3L nga timing belt, 5K din....
basta toyota, expect na makina nila is timing belt...
ang sabi sa kin ng toyota salesperson, basta VVT-i makina, timing chain na
*alwayz_yummy:
The following Toyota engines on timing chain:
K series
R series
ZZ series
NZ series
SZ series (3SZ-VE also K3-VE - both from Avanza)
Marami pang iba (pero yan ang mga locally released)... marami pang ibang series....
