only works for old carb engines.

it is also the best way to damage (like go "BOOOM!") the catalytic converter. unburnt gasoline accumulates int he cat and the next time you start the engine it can ignite and cause an explosion. it does not happen all the time but no one will ever know when one will win the lotto.

Just like everyone said, reving the engine before shutting off the engine is a waste of fuel. This is also related to the old school practice of 'warming up the engine' before driving off. Waste of fuel...

ingay lang at usok ang idudulot nun. kung extra charge for the next start ang kailangan ng batt ang purpose? idle it for a few minutes with all the accessories, lights and a/c off and it's done.

I would usually pump the pedal twice before starting a car with carburators but I never rev the engine before shutting it down. The rationale I heard for revving before shutting from old timers is to give the battery an extra charge.

I'll definitely rev my engines if my car was, let's say...., a F430, or a Gallardo, or a 427 Cobra, or...

sa mga lumang sasakyan hindi natin sila masisisi. they have NON-IC type of charging system integrated in their alternator. so kailangan nilang mag-rev before patayin ang makina so hindi mahirap mag-crank ulit ng engine. old practice lang talaga ung pagrerev..
