ewan ko ba but since I learn driving di ko naging ugali yan kasi sabi ng erpat ko makakasira lang yan ng makina. Isipin mo na lang na iniikot mo ng mabilis yung mainshaft tapos sabay patay. stress sa makina matindi. kawawa naman.....di natin alam kung anong nangyayari sa loob pero tiyak di maganda....and what for?![]()
So... I can't wake up my neighbors anymore, when I park for the night? Sayang... ang lakas na ng tunog ni Scarlet since I changed the headers and cut out the resonator... bwehehehe.
But seriously... it's useless. I don't even practice warm-up, either. Just turn on the engine, put on your seatbelt, check all the doors, turn on the AC, and go.![]()
Ang pagbalik ng comeback...
BAD... Especially for turbo engine as it cut's of the oil going to the ceramic turbine. This is the reason why turbo timers were invented.
With my 1966 Mustang, you have to pump 3 times or more sa gas and start. Yes, I still rev the car before shutting down.
Sa newer car, start and ride away. Park, shut down and walk away.
thanks sa mga replies, i'll have a hard time explaining this to my dad. old habit nya talaga!!! he also pumps the gas pedal before starting our EFI car plus if it doesn't start he quickly follows up another attempt.
btw, when an EFI car doesn't start on an attempt, i can hear a sound of something being pumped for a few seconds, is that fuel being pumped? i normally wait for the sound to stop before making another attempt
pre-post driving rituals:
start kotse, check pinto, drive paatras (palabas ng street), bukas aircon, drive na.
patay aircon pag malapit na house, patay ilaw pagkapark house, handbreak, patay makina.

It's the usual practice ng mga old timers as in dating back to the '70s pa.
Unfortunately this practice has been passed on to some like a virus.
Like my neighbor who just got a brand new tucson (gas). Really cracks me up everytime he parks it![]()
chances are...pag ni rev mo makina at pinatay bago pa man bumaba un rev, your injectors would still be spraying gas, this unburnt fuel then seeps and washes away some if not all the thin film of oil between ur pistons and block sleeves...when u start ur engine again, unnecesarry wear and tear occurs.
ung kapitbahay natin, ganyan din habit...kaso bike ung dala. mayaman siguro sa gas
Good thing I started driving with fuel-injected cars already so I didn't make such routine a habit.
