Dali pa hanapin mga bago at surplus partskasi its not too old.
Actually, dami pang parts lalo na old skool toyotas tulad ng liftback, starlet, corona wedge, sprinter...
Sa ibang brands, peborits ko both lancer L and box types.
At whatever car you choose, siguraduhin mo talaga body. Alisin mo carpets, tignan mo mga kailaliman ng dash at lahat ng di kita sa unang tingin. Laki talaga gastos sa body repair. Makina, sa akin, madali lang paayos. Yung body, medyo madugo.
Oks, yan MASAYA NA MASAKIT SA ULO. Pero worth it naman, pag nag-da-drive ka at tinititigan auto mo. Good luck!
Starlet is my vote...next would be a DX and last is the box-type lancer
(Di ko na drive but seems ok are celeste and celica so wala akong opinion.)
I would choose a good body (all-in-all a very good bodyworks and paint would cost you around 100K at least ....as in looking brandnew talaga). Whereas a good engine replacement could be around less than P50K with installations. Plus less time ang change of engine (a weekend would be enough) pero ang bodywork (extensive ones could even be at least a month).
I'd recommend a Ford mustang V8 or Thunderbird. Another viable project car would be any large american body with a Chrysler hemi engine inside. These are true oldschool cars.
1. opel manta B sports coupe
2. lancer box type (GT or GSR) or corolla liftback
3. VW beetle
4. mustang 67 or 68 na fastback (i know that the topic is 75 above pero, i think wala maganda mustang during that time):P
gusto ko Corona "macho" o yung 1980 Corona sedan (with the 1600cc and extended plastic bumpers na)......we have this before pero binenta ng dad ko...sayang.....
also nice yung Cresida na bilog ang ilaw na mukhang Jag....
I've seen a 1979-1981 Corona 1800 na 4door hatchback, dont know the exact year eh, for sale dyan sa isang gas station sa alabang zapote road.....very nice pa pero P150thou daw selling price...... medyo mahal ata pero very clean and looks good, lowered pa....
starlet 2 door (may turbo version engine available kung makahanap ka)
corolla DX na liftback (meron kami dati, sayang)
lancer GSR na boxtype (meron din turbo engine available kung makahanap ka)
and the oh so hard to find AE86!
kung swerte ka, sana makahanap ka ng toyota 2000GT! i forgot which 007 flick it came out in.
absolutely get an old car with a well-maintained body. as someone said above, mas madaling palitan ang makina...and you might even upgrade the new engine you put in.
however, once rusting spreads in the body, the car is well on its way to being worthless. kung minor bodywork lang like dents and scratches, those are very easy to fix.
