I still have a 1981 2.0 GLS Ford Cortina with Original Paint and only 76,000km on the odometer, biege sidings and carpet, and seats. Also I have a 1981 W123 200D, still going strong at 205,000km with no overhaul yet. My dad still has his 1975 Corona 2 door hard top with 300,000km on his original 12R engine.

You mean the 2-door 2.0 Ford Cortina? That's a nice car. I knew somebody who owned one before and they really set the car up nice. Mags, headers, free-flow mufflers, BUT no body-cladding--which was GOOD. They kept the car's lines clean while beefy-ing up the tires. It was one of the 2 fastest cars in the neighborhood--the other being a Mitsubishi Galant Sigma with 2.0 liter SOHC. Though the Mitsubishi had a 2.0 liter SOHC engine, it lacked the all out design-for-power approach of the Ford which had cross-flow heads. The Mitsubishi had siamesed ports, but also had the nice and new-for-the-time Silent Shafts, which made the engine run very smoothly.

    Nice pic, Jkyamog.

There's a close resemblance to the 80's taxi favorite, the Isuzu Gemini. I liked that car as well, not for it's performance (unless you had the 1.6 SOHC gas option) but for it's economy and soft ride.

any true blue first generation muscle car will do. special mention on the mid-60's corvette, late 60's camaro, and the '65 GT350.

at present, I'm restoring a '67 convertible mustang. i reckon it'll take me 4-6 mos. to complete the job. i'll retain the purist touch in interiors and exterior parts. but, i'll transform/modify the handling and performance to be at par with the new generation of cars.

For me the best all rounder old school is the Classic Mini/ Mini Clubman,
1.) Size is very compact for you to keep in your garage.
2.) Trimmings are still in production that you can order thru the net.
3.) A "smile car" which guarantee people look at.
4.) Hop up kits and (Honda) engine conversion is ok.
5.) Parking is not a problem.
In short ito talaga ang "LARUAN".

    Compare to:
a.) Lancer L type to Boxtype the problem with this is the trimmings. after market parts . ( tail lights, and other lenses, Dashboard)

b.) Corolla Sprinter was ok, but make sure you get one with complete trimmings.
c.) Corolla box type Ok for drift look.

I remember the L-type. It was a bit cramped inside, but it had a nice ride and the engine, 'Neptune', ran very smooth and was a high revver, inspite of its OHV configuration. The same engine was used in the Cimarron One-Tonner, if anybody here remembers it.

The Box-type started using the more powerful and sophisticated 'Saturn' which had OHC, but was noisier and less smooth than its predecessor, the Neptune.

I hate the Cimarron. Hate it with the hate of a thousand suns. It was the only car worse than a Ford Fiero. Ugh. Agh. Eek.

Loved the L-Type. Pretty nice car, especially after you swap in a Saturn.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

Lancer Boxtype GT (which we still keep).

By the way, we are selling our Galant Lambda. 1st owner, needs ground up resotoration but good as a donor car, still have most of the trimmings and parts, especially that elusive reare window.

Meron na ba website ngayon for oldschool cars in the ph.

yes celeste, had one it has the saturn engine handling is very good quite fast as well and not much of a gas guzzler, yes space is quite cramped at par with the 2dr L-type.

2nd my current corona silver ed., spacious, comfortable ride great engine although a bit on the gas guzzler side since 18r-u but it matches the weight of the car since its heavy then di pa power steering kya tamang work out na din specially when parking it.

3rd, obviously Lancer Boxtype since timeless din sya dami mods up until now fuel efficient same power as the suturn and Corolla ke70 or the liftback,
efficient din since 4k engine and gives you that initial d feeling since almost the same sila ng ae86 so ala takumi ka padrift-drift lang hehehe
