The BJ40 may be kind of expensive for its age, and it may ride like a sack of rocks, but it's a real man's car... yup. I rode my uncle's BJ40 quite a lot when he bought it a few years ago, and I figured that, though the ride is bad, it was a decent enough car... c'mon, we've all ridden jeepneys one time or another... and it's terrifically capable. We took it in the mud, through water deep enough to sink trucks... man, it was fun!

Then I had to borrow it when my car was at the shop. I took it from his house to my house, and by the time I'd maneuvered it into my garage, I was sweating like a pig (even with the aftermarket-installed AC on full blast) from wrestling with the non-power steering, trying to get those Mickey Thompsons to come around. I gave him back the keys and decided to commute... :hysterical:

I must be a wimp, I guess... his wife drives it all the time.

Personally, for a coding car, for these prices, get a Kia Pride and mod the hell out of it. Hehehe... just kidding. I'm actually partial to the BJ40 (puwede naman salpakan ng power steering) or even a 70's Celica... just restore the Celica with original trimming, good paint and period mags, it's still a looker... or, within your budget, how about a 240Z?

But still, BJ40... ambangis. Hehehe.
