my friend has a brand new diesel van with around 300+kms na natatakbo, under Break-in pa yata if I'm not wrong. Haven't been to the 1st PMS. Question is, okay lang ba siya iakyat sa Baguio? Di kaya siya mapuwersa? Need your advise.

AFAIK, ok lang yung paakyat, basta 'wag lang ihataw ng todo yung makina dahil hindi pa naa-adjust yung mga valves niyan.

In my case, I was only reminded by the sales agent not to go beyond 80 kph on my diesel Adventure, hangga't hindi pa ako nakaka-1000km PMS. Tapos sa Rizal pa ako nakatira, kaya hindi maiiwasang sumabak sa akyatan on the first day. Wala namang naging adverse effect sa makina.

pwedeng pwede. kung hindi pwede, e kawawa naman yung mga taga Baguio, pano sila magbreak in ng new car nila?

pwede wag mo lang ihataw. keep it under 90 kph on flats, tapos don't exceed 2500 rpm sa paakyat. saka kung pwede wag naman fully loaded, baka naman buong barangay isama nya e kawawa naman ang van.

i wouldn't do it. car manuals say that among other things, you should avoid placing unusual stress on the engine during break-in...e.g. WOT acceleration, hauling trailers and extended climbing.

if you have an alternate vehicle it's better to be safe...imo

If you are not going to rev it to hell, then ok lang.

The engine will not know naman what terrain you are on basta alalay sa revs.

i'm from baguio and i can tell you with certainty na puede. just follow your car manual's break in guidelines. i've had no problem breaking in my car (and previous cars) driving from manila straight to baguio after getting it from the car dealership. hope this helps.
