for the past month, every time i use the NLEX, there's always at least 2 or 3 portions under repair. bakit ganun? MNTC spent billions of pesos to rehabilitate the entire NLEX, boasting of world class quality road, and now pot holes are sprouting all over. and from what i've seen, the way they patch up those pot holes is the same with what DPWH is doing to repair our national roads: pouring liquid asphalt (or was it liquefied/melted old tires?) into the holes. hindi naman magtatagal itong ganitong klaseng repairs.

AFAIK dapat concrete din, if you use asphalt it won't hold up for the rainy season, which means more repairs = more money spent. And I don't think bibigay yung concrete just after 3 months? unless they used substandard raw materials

Depende po sa klase ng asphalt. Kapag lower class eh konting ulan or isang malakas na ulan lang butas agad. World class ba 'kamo?

for patching up roadwork, gamit talaga is asphalt, pag semento kasi is dapat bakbakin lahat para maganda ang gawa at lalagyan mu ng "channels" para sa tag-init pag nag-expand sya hindi masisira. Sobrang time consuming talaga if semento, but it would last long, but at the first signs of wear, bakbak nanaman. I think yung pag-asphalt nila is part of their maintenance na. hirap lang talaga sa atin, malakas na nga ulan, barumbado na mga truck drivers, puro overloaded pa ang dala. its hell on asphalt

i observed that during the construction on a portion of NLEX (by the way, i'm from up north), before they laid the asphalt/aggregate, there is a dry concrete being laid out underneath- see the concrete barrier in the middle, just like that. maybe some portion of the earth is subject to such condition (degrading). thus, resulting to damages.
